    RPM would be high pretty high on the highway.

    You can use http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html to figure out your rpm at different speeds in different gears with your specific tire size.
    Your 5spd R156F is as follows:
    1st : 4.313
    2nd: 2.33
    3rd: 1.436
    4th: 1.0
    5th: 0.788
    R: 4.22

    Setting shock mounts / bump plates. Using my old bump stop mounts for now. The shocks are mounted so that I can get another 2” of up travel when I redo the bumps. That is a project for another time though.

    @downhillbik3r I know you’re still
    Working on your DMZ project, but how have you liked the 4.88s thus far with 33s on AND off pavement? Curious how zippy (or lack-thereof) it’s made your Tacoma.

    Its not exactly zippy, but definitely improved the drive-ability of the truck. Its still not powerfull, or fast. It cruises along a 2750 rpm @70 and I have to downshift to 4th alot less. In the dirt it made a larger difference. Torque and control are both improved at lower speeds. Crawling is now easier.

    Getting close to wrapping up the DMZ/LT install. Here is a picture of the bedcage. Made from scratch, by myself. Basically copied DMZ's design. Its not perfect, I am not a fabricator, this is my first big project. I am stoked how it came out.

    I’m definitely eager to see what it’ll do for my truck as well. Did you mean 2750 @70?

    @downhillbik3r you gonna do anything about the motor mounts? I know DMZ sells the V6 kit but I am wondering how long the l4's will last.

    I just went out and romped the truck pretty hard all day and I was just thinking about this. I would really like some better mounts with poly bushings for the engine and trans. Gonna do some research.

    This build rules so hard. And yeah, im also interested in beefier engine/trans mounts for the 2.7. They seem weak as hell. Back in my BRZ days, it was common to install a poly bushing in the trans mount that soaked up a lot of the deflection but was still very street-able. I wonder if someone could whip something up for these trucks

    Thanks! Yeah I would really like to look into the engine/trans mounts. I dont know of anyone that makes them and have not had too much time to look into it yet. A mount that uses a readily available poly bushing would be very cool.
