The driving is 1 thing, but all the maintenance stuff for $15.50 - $18.04 an hour, no thanks. Sounds like a lot of really hard work and responsibility for little pay.

It gets really cold and windy around Mt Washington.

Not only this; but Mount Washington holds the record for fastest wind speed recorded.

For anyone that hasn't been there, the weather can kill you in July, let alone February, and the road up is dangerous as hell at 72 degrees and dry, let alone in a snowstorm. You'd have to know your sh*t. And they want you to train and maintain? Although for the right person, Some single vet who's just coming back and been a mechanic in a military theater could hang, and maybe dig the challenge. 6 month gig and it's up. Small pool to choose from.

Knowing a few of the mechanics that keep all the snow cats up and running at the local ski resorts, no thanks. Thats a backbreaking job.

I think I'd rather flip burgers in a nice warm Burger King for $10/hr. LOL

90% of the time it'd be pretty smooth. When the equipment's running and it's 'just winter'. That is IMHO one of the most beautiful parts of the world and running around up there is as good as it gets. But then there's the day when it's an ice storm, something breaks, and it's all on you to get it fixed and people's lives are on the line...that guy is worth $18.00/hr???

Up that way, BK pays more than $10/hour, my friend. Local Mickey-Ds in NH pays $12 and is perpetually advertising in an area where unemployment stands at around 1%.
