i've used the colby valves before, they are handy. Hadn't seen that little tool before, that's sweet. I think i'll pick one of those up.

Some chucks are open, for appropriate reasons, but the reason these are cool its 4 different chucks on the system and you can use 1 or 4. They also will never strip your threads on the valve stem because they are a push/pull mechanism it affix them to the stem. VS a screw on or “Euro” style chuck which has the lever which is prone to strip off the threads over time.

I’m not denying that some are open. But you claimed that these are unlike anything you’ve seen before. They are very typical, basic Schrader valve air chuck. It’s like $8 on Amazon. I have that exact one and it can strip the threads just like all the others you mentioned.

You mean like this one? Seems to have doubled in price since I bought mine. Swapped the Euro clip-on attachment on my ARB inflator for one of these and it's much better at holding a seal against the valve stem. Can totally strip the threads though like you said if you don't remove it with 2 hands from my experience.

No issues here either. But I’ve learned that the best way to remove it from the valve stem and keep it from digging into the threads is to push it into the valve stem with one hand while you pull the collar back with the other. Just a technique I prefer to use to keep the threads from getting torn up. :notsure:

Late to the party, The Haltec H-5265 air chuck are the best that I've found. There are 3 jaws that will clamp onto the valve stem creating a positive seal. Single jaw chucks tend to leak which is annoying. The H-5265 is a closed chuck but is available as an open chuck (H-5265-OP) for certain applications.

I built one of these systems for my son to use with his FJ40. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYqeXxEItDI&t=3s
The hose is a little bulky to store. With not much work you could run the main hose under the vehicle and have shorter "runs" to the tires.

Air down or up at the same time and each tire will have the same psi. After I made my son's I demonstrated it. It took about 5 minutes to attach the hoses to the tires and air source and about a minute to drop the psi from 35 to around 25. It took a little longer to air back up to 35. I don't remember the exact time. The air source was a CO2 tank.
I'm going to make another one for my FJ60. I'm going to run the main line under the vehicle so the "leads" running from it to the wheels will be a lot shorter. As I said in the earlier post, the hose is bulky and I want it to be less so.
I'm sure it boils down to personal preference.

Yea. It just seems you have to walk to every tire anyway. You aren't really filling them faster because the CFM is split by 4. So the total time filling (or deflating) is the same. It makes it slightly easier to get the same pressure in each tire at the expense of carrying and slinging a lot of hose. Obviously, it's personal preference and this certainly isn't bad.

You do need to go to each tire but I don't have to bend down as long with is a lot easier my on old back.
