Are you looking for more load capacity? Do you have an aal?

I wouldn't suggest going that method. It's alot of work. I have 2016 6 lug leafs and a 2008 trd off-road rear end. It was wayyyyyyyy too stiff and tall. I removed the overload spring which made it softer and lowered it an inch but then had to use leaf spring clamps to reduce axle wrap because it's very common with spring over. It rides good now but is no way good for heavy loads lol.

No, not looking for more load capacity necessarily. Mainly looking for better ride quality, if possible. I have Fox 2.0 shocks which are a major upgrade from stock, but I don't know if they'd work even better paired with a higher quality set of leaf springs.

Yes, I have an aal as part of my lift.

Do they possibly have deaver's that may work? could be a possibility if you're not looking to go stiffer

You could always do a shackle flip. It'll make the ride alittle softer but will allow more flex. It will also add about an inch in the rear though so keep that in mind if you want to be level.

Off the wall question. Can you run the Bilstein 5100 on the rear if you run stock ride height on a 07 base model?

Was thinking I could run them for a while at stock height and once I find a rear diff setup to raise the truck up and run larger tires, I'd already be ready for the AAL.

You should be fine, yes. Shocks may be a lil compressed but I've heard they work

Got it. might not want to run them then. bottoming out shocks is a no no.

idealy, I'd like to get a 3.73 LSD rear end at some point. trying to also learn what it'd take to get others in there. I'm not married to keeping this truck for a long while so I dunno. not gonna spend top dollar to do stuff. My 98 M3 needs work as well as I'm refreshing many thing on it for track duty.

Keep in mind I'm running 2 pairs of wheels because I'm 6 lug rear and 5 lug front. The 3.73 lsd rear end you want as a second gen will be out of any 2nd gen 6 lug trd sport.

I'll prolly be in the same boat when I do 6 lug rear end with two spares. But, out of curiosity is it possible to do a spacer/adaptor in the front for 6 lug, or vice versa to make rear 5?

I ran adapters for a little bit and had to destroy both of them to get them off to do a brake job. They always seize up at some point

It was one of those days where you bring all your destructive tools out. My grinder burned out in the first 5 mins. I think it was the aluminum dust. I'm currently not rotating but also I'm currently dropping a V8 in so converting the front to 6 lug is a battle for another day

Not sure I already have a set of 6 lug hubs. Im either going to modify a stock 6 lug spindle or make a boxed lift spindle.

Picked up a 98 v6 5 lug with a 3" body lift and a shade under 200k miles. It is my first Taco, Seems like with a little love she will still be up to the task. Needed a ball joint, springs, and a wheel bearing so i figure while im in there...

Looking in to adding Doetsch spindles, an alcan leaf pack, and some new shocks/springs to put some life back in to her suspension right now. There are what looks like over sized coils in front flexing the arm about as far as it wants to go and leaving me next to zero down travel.
Couple of questions out of the gate after poking around - Im sure this has been answered but my eyes are bleeding at this point and - help -

Will the mentioned upgrades offer me some more travel front and back (about how much?), or am I going to have to go further pretty early on?

I am assuming I can get shackles from alcan in the process of getting the leaf pack [Correct?] and if so, will the mount(s) also then need to be relocated?

Is it worth Springing for some billstein and new springs after spindles?

Adding a spindle lift will not increase your suspension travel sadly. It only puts ur wheel 3 inches lower to the ground with the same suspension geometry.(do get lift from it) U might have the doestch lift coil then. Adding a new leaf pack might gain u travel with the lift in the rear, tho. Billies are good but u can get kybs for cheap on Amazon and theyre good too
