Got less than 2000 miles on mine, but struggling to get over 18 at the moment. Maybe still enjoying being back in a manual to much right to worry about mpg

25 mile work commute, 45 - 70 mph (some hills, some highway... a little bit of everything).
Always between 18-22 MPG (12k on engine)

Bought my 2019 trd sport 4x4 dcsb mt in July ,
Daily driver coming up on 10k miles .
    Mostly highway driver 80/20
I enjoy driving my manual taco , don't need to prove anything to
    Anyone , I normally put the c c on @ 64 going and coming
    80 miles round trip 4 -5 times a week . Average 22-23 going north
23-25 coming south . Slight climb on the way north .
The local driving with stop and go traffic will take its toll on mpg
I average 21 mpg for the tank .

Thank you for the input! I'm glad to hear it can at least get low 20s! My full time job commute is 20 miles round trip. But recently, I picked up a second job 2 days a week about 120 miles round trip. The extra job will more than pay for note and fuel though. Really just sick of auto and want a manual again. And my 11 Camry avgs about 28mpg so we're talking maybe 4mpg less as I drive very conservatively.

If i drive strictly flat, two lane highway at 55mph I can get around 22 mpg with heavy payload and E rated 265/70R16 Duratrac's. I've gotten closer to 23-24 if I draft a semi.

At 78 Mph on somewhat hilly interstate I only get like 15-16 MPG.

I have a 19 trd sport with the manual and average 21.5 just about all of the time. I live in the mountains and drive 40 miles each way to work and it usually takes 50 minutes to an hour to drive. I have taken it on a few trips and the best I have gotten was 23.4 on a tank. Definitely better mileage if I keep it below 65. I have 14k on mine as of now.

Thanks for the post! That's really not bad mpg especially in mountains. I wonder if the 4cyl could even beat that

I get advertised or better mpgs on Bfgs KO2s , e range. 18-19 in city and 23-24 hwy ( going no faster than 70)

I am very happy with it.

Yes I am a bit of a nerd, but here is mine this 2019 to date. Lifetime average is the 19.04. 2018 TRD OR w/manual, 100% stock. This is a mix of city (not stop and go) and highway. Interstate usually kills mileage but not always. Once last year on interstate going into the wind I only got 14. Ouch! We have 40 mph speed limits around town and I normally get about 21-22 unless I hit every stoplight. Overall was disappointed I don't get a little better mileage with the truck but I'll live. Interestingly I see much more fluctuation tank to tank with the Tacoma than I do for our 4runner. That thing consistently gets 18.XX in the summer or winter, with or against the wind, city or highway.

The immediate area where I live is fairly hilly and I tend to get 18-19mph when making trips of 5-ish miles. If I go a town or two over, round trip of 30-50 miles, it's much flatter once I get out of the hills and I usually get 20-22 mpg. Longer trips I can get a little better, 23 or so. These are all rural roads and county highways, 55mph (or so.. ;^), but I think I'm pretty light on the throttle. Interstates I get around 19mpg, city driving around the same, 18-19.

One trip, I followed a friend home after a canoe trip. I didn't have a canoe on my truck, I was the ferry vehicle from where we put in and took out. My friend was in his ratty old Isuzu Pup diesel hauling a trailer with our canoes, so he was going an even 55mph the 60 some miles home. He was steady on the throttle and did minimal braking and slow to accelerate. Following him, my trip meter said I got 28mpg! I hadn't gotten that since my old 4 cylinder sr5!

I had a 17 4 banger 5 speed and the best I got with it was 23.5 on the same commute. I wish I had gotten the v6 to begin with especially knowing the difference in mileage. My friend has a 17 base v6 dc auto and only averages 18 on the same commute. We share rides and he doesn’t run his any harder than I do.

Depends how you drive. It's pretty shit if you like to go 75+. I averaged 15 mpg on a 360 mile drive last week with average speed 80 according to dash and eco app in truck. If you go 50-60 on flats it'll get over 20 mpg though.
