Anyone ever installed the key by splicing I to this harness? I used it to install a amp and it made the quick and easy. 287B3906-1BE6-423C-8CA7-C2048DD93161.jpg

That harness only contains the front speaker channels, and is a pass-through harness meaning the speaker wires would have to be cut apart, not spliced in to. Good thought though

Could a T harness be made using this or is it possible to make a T harness that would also send signal to the sub amp?

it is absolutely possible to make one that sends signal to the sub. If you already have this particular harness, you can utilize the LOC from it. If you do not already have this, I wouldn't purchase it.

you wouldnt be able to make a t-harness with this product because no rear channels. It's also just really short for the work that needs to be done.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
not to revive a dead thread- i got a kicker key and built my harness exactly like above. i went through the whole process and did the auto set up, got the happy tones and the end, all is good. but- when i turn the truck off, the optimized tune is gone. i have to plug the mic in and give it a tap to switch it over. it will not hold the tune. any ideas?

Did you do the Key’s red power wire to the red Metra wire, or the yellow

if the amp is resetting every time the radio turns off, my first guess is that you did the key's power wire to the red accessory wire and not the yellow constant power wire

well, i’m an idiot. too many Carbon monoxide fumes i guess. it was working fine the whole time.

so since i’m using the oem speaker configuration, i turn bi-amp off correct?

So I just wanted to get clarification before I plugged it all up. I'm 99% sure that I got it wired correctly, even though I had to rewire it probably 5 times because I wasn't paying attention.

Do I have the correct understanding that the jumper pin from the large female connector (aka 70-1761) is cut and depinned from its slot next to the orange/white wire?
    20191206_170930.jpg

The pin and rest of the blue wire is then inserted into the small female connector (aka 70-1761) beside the green/black wire. The unused tail remaining in the jumper pin is just heatshrunk alone so it doesn't short.
    20191206_170743.jpg

Am I also correct that in the instance of powering the amp from the factory HU wiring that both yellow metra harness wires and both red amp wires are connected together, making a bundle of four? Additionally, all four black wires from the respective harnesses are connected together? And all four blue wires (one of which has a white stripe) are all connected together?

That said, I'm half way through a full wiring schematic for the T harness, provided that mine is correct. I wanted to make a no-nonsense guide since there are several pictures of harnesses with errors.

    All looks great to me!
And yes, Kicker red to Metra yellow.

cant wait for your write up! That will help tons of people take on this project! I wanted to make one when I did @ArmandHammer83 install but I can’t take pictures due to our Client Data Privacy policy.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking this very helpful thread as I'm making a t-harness for my DSP amp install into a 2019 DCSB without JBL.

Had a question I'm hoping someone can answer - I want to use a remote to turn on the amp, but I'm not sure why I need to use the blue wire on the female 10 hole metra socket. Can't I just use the blue wires on the male side and de-pin the blue wires (the single wire and the loop) on the female side? Or does the female side need to connect for some reason (it looks like people are removing the blue looped wire from the female side and salvaging that pin for the dimmer in the six hole plug, but leaving the other blue wire in the female plug intact, and I'm not sure why it's needed to leave one of the blue wires on the female side).

    Thanks for any help.

I’ve got the infinity basslink sm which is very similar to the jbl basspro and kicker hideaway in every way is my understanding. I’ve bought the line converter and the Toyota female Metra harness so far. These are pics of the back of the sub and the wire harness that came with it if this helps. Thanks I appreciate the input if you can help it’d be greatly appreciated. I just want to be sure I’ve got everything I need before I begin tackling this task and I’m very anxious to get it done once and for all @destin_meeks or anybody else with experience and knowledge of this. This is my first time to ever install a subwoofer or amp and I’m hooking up to factory head unit non jbl but it’s the 7” touchscreen for 3rd gen and I’ve upgraded door speakers and tweeters thus far. I’m looking for the low end bass fill mainly with this compact powered sub. This is everything I’ve bought for hookup so far. I’ve also got some 16 gauge oxygen free speaker wire

check your factory wiring and see if anything is pinned where those blue wires are. I've seen some trucks with and some trucks without wires in those spots. If something is there, just make sure its got a blue wire to connect to. If there is nothing there, by all means remove them
