    Going to start tearing into the engine to do the cam gears swaps later this week. Fingers crossed as well and legs and feet, (that's a strange contortionist image...) that they solve the issue with not phasing properly.

    I had a girl, she called this the inbetween time. As in looks good before it started to peel, then a couple few years later looks good again after it's all peeled off. She didn't have the brightest bulb but made up for it with other talents.

    Nice little update. Got the new actuators in. With only one small issue. Had a Roadkill moment. Thankfully my after thoughts haunted me.

    Passenger side, exhaust cam cap was loose. Luckily there was no scoring. Tighten back up and dodged a bullet. Phew.

    Could hear them knocking around until they filled with oil. Then they quieted to normal. All was well. Then I encountered the tail chasing hunt of getting no where positive with the value changes for cam phase angle. Only one would somewhat move and the other didn't have barely flicker a movement. Devil was in the details, as they say.
    All sorts of different methods of testing. Finally came back around to using the values of a 2003 Lexus IS300. Exact same VVTi oil control solenoid. Instant gratification!

    Threw together a ten minute tune and I am quite a bit happier with the low end results. Not ecstatic yet, but happier. Just needs some quality seat and datalogging time.

    The usual. Limited time and rushing. I had just forgotten to torque it. Usually I leave the bolts visually loose. That time I had hand threaded them all the way down. Cam didn't shift out of place, nor bind. Unbelievably fortunate.
