Just deny you abused the vehicle. They have no way to prove you did. It's a safety issue, they're legally required to fix it. If the dealer refuses tell them you're reporting the issue to the NHTSA. I would bet they change their mind real quick...

It was a dark cold night, the wind was howling by the window. She was almost done with...Never mind, I will never admit to that.

The OP already said he wheeled his truck hard and this happened, which he’s accepting. I’d expect more to be messed up, honestly.

If you roll your truck and smash out the windows do you blame the windows for exploding? Some Tacoma owners do. Maybe they watched too many parody commercials or Chuck Norris vids.

Newer Toyota's are not built for heavy offroad use, they have really cheap thin metal now days.Buy yourself a pre 90's truck .

I have some similar cracks, Anybody with these cracks get any noise from them? I have a front end clunk/scrape/weird noise when I go over speed bumps and this is the last thing I can think of that would be causing it but haven't seen anyone complaining of noise from this problem.

Is this something that should be covered by Toyota/warranty?

if the metal just cracked over time and this is a known problem with the Tacoma I figured even if a long shot maybe they would fix it?

It’s not “just cracking”, it’s being abused and then cracking.

    This

Kind of like how some 3rd gens have had the rear diff "just explode" but it turns out it was from the user WOT and wheel hopping all over the damn place that caused it to explode

Toyota warrantying this would be like buying and getting tires mounted, doing a burn out in the parking lot and then going back inside and asking for new.

So has anyone figured out the best way to fix this? After reading it sounds like plating it may just delay the inevitable and cause it to crack again elsewhere?

best way is prevention. Relocate heavy battery, replace crappy stock bushings, and take it easy offroad.

If already occurring then drill/plate/reinforce. Relocate battery. Replace bushings. Take it easy offroad

If still occurring then just cage it.
