Those plastics look awesome. Hopefully they work out well when you take them out. I need to jump on the swimbait train again.... have a few left from last season, but for some reason I don’t use them. Awesome winter bait.

Anyone ice fish? Been ice fishing since I was little (lived in the midwest most of my life) but last year was the first time I ice fished here in CA and it was pretty cool. A couple small rainbows and some white fish, but the deep snow levels on the ice made drilling holes a pain so I only went once. Going to try and go up a few times this year if I can. Get into some big browns and rainbows.

Also for everyone who was in on meeting up near the delta to fish for a half a day or whatever, haven’t forgotten about that. Have some spots we could hit, but with all the cold/rain, figured we could wait until it warms up again... make it a little more enjoyable.

Just purchased a MinnKota Ulterra trolling motor. Stoked to get it and install it. Really excited for the spot lock and self launching ability.

I’m pretty tired of realizing I’m headed into the bank when I’m pulling in a fish haha

Hahaha imagine how I feel when my only propulsion is a trolling motor. I spend 25% fishing 75% trolling on the lake.

A buddy of mine installed some high-speed bearings on a couple of his cheaper reels (Abu Blackmax and SilverMax) and he loves them. He said he’s getting more distance with way less effort. Anyone try these on their reels yet? May get a pack to try.

Yeah I think I will..... just to see what happens. Lol. Be cool to see if a $50 reel performs like a $250 reel with some new bearings.

I put in some quality Boca brand bearings in a very old Abu Garcia reel. I had the bearings from my other hobby. Best damn reel I ever had. It’s on the bottom of the Atlantic now. When our household goods were being shipped from Europe to the US, boat hit a storm and half a dozen containers fell into the ocean. Half of our stuff was in one of those containers. My fishing gear was in it.

Anyone go out this weekend? I went out to the delta yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours and...... it was completely flooded as I suspected it would be and no fish were caught. Had a couple bites on the ned rig, but nothing to show.

On the bright side, I got to try my $15 Daiwa Crossfire spinning reel and it’s actually a decent little reel. So much so, I bought another one on the way home (sportsman’s still has them for the $15 sale price). I wouldn’t take it out over my nicer reels obviously, but for $15, there is nothing else that beats it imo. Nice backup reel or reel for someone on a budget.

Unfortunately haven't been out in two weeks now. I'm hoping to get out this weekend.
