Sugar wash moonshine doesn't require any of that. I'll be able to run for a long while. Plus, how far and how often do you realistically think you'd be driving in the end of times?

Supposedly the Tesla designers came up with an F150 competitor that was “normal” looking. Elon scrapped the design and gave work direction to the team and make it futuristic looking.

What's the deal with the picture of the truck in here that looked like an honest-to-goodness Maserati pickup? It had Tesla emblems on it...

true you probably won’t need to drive too far during these times ...

but uhhhh, that’s not how renewable fuel works at all. When you say moonshine we are taking about ethanol fuel for our petrol motors . The ethanol comes form fermentation using a microbe (typically yeast). The yeast will require a “food”(energy and carbon source) source to 1) grow/multiple (biomass) and 2) also need “food” to convert into the ethanol. This food is sugars (glucose usually ) which comes form things that have glucose (corn , beats , cane ) anything which gives glucose after treatment of the “food”. Once u got your ethanol fuel (it’s basically like wine or beer at this point ) you must extract it from the fermentation broth because your car will not run very well with all that water (90%) and whole cells floating around in there. After filtering that broth you can distill off the ethanol (moon shine) and u got your ethanol . Each 1 gallon of this ethanol required about 10 gal of water and 15lbs of grain/feed to begin with. Also if this is in your back yard your yield a titer will be way more variable and worse possible due to shitty process controls.( we haven’t even taken into account all the energy required to run the distillery, let’s just assume you have unlimited fire wood lol)
Soooooo..... yeah no there is No sugar free method as you describe. If there was you are definitely eligible for the noble prize with your secret technique.

Don’t even get me started on renewable diesel fuels with oil/free fatty acid production

Like I said, a high oil crop, a press, and you can get SVO out of that. That said... SVO isn't an ideal fuel.

Still won't consider one until I'm completely off grid using solar.

Kinda growing on me. I put down $500 too. I fully expect my next truck will be either a hybrid or 100% electric (2022).

Here is a good video about the design of the Cybertruck:

That's a great video explaining the function behind the form, but I'm not convinced this "look" will catch on. I mean, Ridgelines have been out for how long... and I am still not a fan of that rolling ▲.

Yes. That remains to be seen. People might not like it and it might be a weird vehicle that later they will talk about as a side note. Or maybe it'll catch on and be an iconic vehicle, like the Hummer. Or perhaps, because the type of dent resistant steel they're using seems to require simpler, boxy body design, maybe this sort of steel and design will be demanded in more vehicles, changing the shape of vehicle design. I personally wouldn't mind a boxier vehicle if it had such strong body. Time will tell I guess.

Here's an interesting technical/scientific video about the body design/material. Says will be "safest vehicle that you've ever seen."

Yeah, it looks to be an interesting vehicle, but superlatives are probably best kept in check until these things hit the streets.

Yes. Big difference between when a vehicle is in the early stages, and when it actually hits the streets. What is that UFO animation and eye about? Cybertruck does look like something alien like, similar in some ways to that UFO. Is there also a function behind the form of the flying saucer? Is the flying saucer shape more aerodynamic, or some other reason why it might look the way it does?
