I’ve been running a spectre CAI for almost a year now I know air intakes don’t make little to any power but I’ve heard that spectre is the worst brand, I’d like to hear everyone’s opinion on different CAI’s

I’ve been using a TRD cutback & CAI for well over a year now. I have noticed a difference. Generally around 2,500 rpm (78 mph) with 430 gears, I get over 20 mpg. Driving at 80 +/- 5, I usually get about 20. The best I ever got was 25.3 on a 15 mile trip 50-55 mph.

I run a scangauge that reads the intake air temperature. The intake temp generally runs about 10 degrees Fahrenheit more than the ambient air temperature as measured by thermometer on my mirror. So ask yourself...does your truck perform better at 75 degrees than it does at 85 degrees?

So from looking cool or sounding cool perspective maybe...from a performance / efficiency standpoint I can't see it.

I know that there is a difference in mileage, if not performance. This is a sample trip today at mostly 80mph. (3,000 rpm at 88 mph) I have 430 gears with a manual and I did not get this at that speed prior to my TRD Catback and CAI. At 70 mph, I usually get 21-22 mpg.
