We finished putting our trees up yesterday.

We have an artificial tree that we put in the dining room. That one is decorated with Hallmark ornaments Lynn and I have been giving each other for years - she gets Nostalgic Houses and Shoppes and I get Classic American Cars.

In our Great Room we always have a fresh cut tree and decorate that one with 45 years of collected ornaments (celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary Nov 26th). I got Lynn and our two Labs (both females), Duffy (black) and Sunny (yellow) in the picture, too. For height reference, Lynn is 5' 6" and the doors behind the tree are 8'.

O.K. you guys win! After surviving a potentially VERY BAD situation with my FJ, I decided that I do have something to be happy about, so the tree is under construction even now... All I have to do is get more button batteries for my Hallmark "Star Trek" Starships that need them... Pics soon.

I bought one of these a few years ago - love it. Although it says it will take trees up to 12ft tall, "a friend" told me it will handle taller than that, too. The ratcheting system also makes it really easy to lock the tree in place without having to crank in multiple screws from different directions. Just ratchet down the handle a few times and it's secured.
