Gotta start doing a build page so here we go. Gotta lot to fill in but gonna start with my motor now that I’m building it. And go back to the truck

Doing a on-ramp pull one morning. Regular thing for me. Rev limiter shift. And cel started flashing after that. Didn’t have any power and couldn’t go into boost. Said f it and continued 20 min at 80mph to get it to work. Praying for a bad spark plug or something easy. Misfire on cylinder 4. Checked the plug. Looked fine. Swapped plug and coil and still there. Decided to do a compression test. And 0 psi in the cylinder. Tried using a borescope and couldn’t see anything. Knowing it was either valves or a bad piston I knew I needed to pull the motor anyways. So it started.Visually checked everything first and noticed one exhaust rocket had no play and knew something was wrong with that valve. And the tear down starts. Luckily I can do this all at work in the heat.

Looks like an over rev. With a weak valve spring. Keepers fell off and let the valve go and piston smashed it. Not much damage and easy fix. But where the fun in that. n
Started ordering parts...
Cp pistons 9.5:1 compression and ceramic coated. With some Brian crower rods. Still have tons of parts to order but starting to go back together. Ordered new oem crank bearings and thrust bearings. Plastic gauges them to make sure they were correct.

Got one piston in. Decided to take a break and get it painted first. Takes a long time to clean.





Finally got all the pistons in. Motors all painted. Just ordered cams. So will have to start playing around with heads next.

Also got some stuff back from powder coat

 

Some more updates. Cams came in with springs. Head work continues.

Why no blue NST pulleys to match the powder coat?!

 

Cuz they wouldn’t match perfect. I think it wouldn’t look good.
