I took my 2004 Avalanche in for inspection last month and my garage called with the news that the frame was gone. They happened to have this 2005 Tacoma in their used lot so I took it for a spin. 135k on the clock so not real high miles (my Avalanche had 80k on it:mad:). They let me take it for the weekend to see if I liked it. Ran it around 100 miles or so, getting used to the 5 speed manual tranny and 2.7 4 cylinder drivetrain. I decided to do the deal with them and they agreed to do the state inspection which was due by February, oil change and wheel bearing replacement. A week later they did all that work which included another wheel bearing, brake caliper, disc and pads, exhaust work and air /cabin filters. They picked up the tab entirely which is why I keep coming back to M&S Auto Service.
I'd go into my extensive history on my Avalanche, but I won't write a saga comparable to "War and Peace". Nice truck for the first 8 years but has been draining my checkbook ever since. Horrible brake issues, rust and electrical problems. Hoping to have better luck with this Tacoma. My only concern is that I am a big old guy and getting in is a little rough. Interior slightly cramped but I am starting to enjoy the vehicle. Also I am exploring the many threads on Tacoma World and was surprised to find cooking threads and many other topics of interest. Thanks for being here. Excellent resource.

My Tacoma also had the frame replacement
so that should be good to go!
