If E rated tires ride bad you have too much air in them. I've had "E" rated tires on my Tacoma for a while now and it rides just the same as before, gets the same fuel mileage as the P rated tires that were 15 lbs each lighter.

A "C" rated tire is rated to carry LESS weight than the factory tires that came on it. They don't make anything lighter duty than a "C". They are intended for lightweight SUV's such as Wranglers that don't haul or tow any real weight.

My Tacoma is good on tires for a while, but I just put a set of these on my F150 a week ago. They are a new tire from Pirelli so there isn't a lot of feedback on them yet. I had planned on buying BFG's and still think they are a good tire. But these are about $20/tire cheaper + I caught a black Friday special price on them and ended up getting these about $400 less than BFG's. At that price I'm willing to be a product tester.

You just have to see them side by side, but this is a bit more aggressvie tread than the BFG's. Only put about 300 mile on them so it wouldn't be fair to say much, it's too early. But so far I haven't found any negatives.

How much road noise with those Pirellis? Years ago I had a set of Pirelli Norseman tires, best tires I've ever had.

+1 on the 285/75r16 KO2 recommendation, fits perfect on the stock pro wheels with no cutting

I wound up with a set of the Pirelli A/T+ tires. Just had them installed yesterday and only have a few miles on them, so far so good.

Just like the name on it says, it's a classic. Probably millions of rigs currently on the roads with the classic cobra 29 in their cabs. Truckers have been using them for decades. Are there better, more powerful radios available? Yes indeed, there are. If you're thinking of using this for off road purposes you might want a more powerful radio that can reach farther. if you're just sticking to pavement this radio should suffice. A quality antenna actually helps a lot.

@1taco2motos I was recommended cobra 75 by one of the shops I called. What do you think about that one?

Well the 75 is definitely compact. The entire radio is right there in the hand held microphone. If you're wanting to save space this might be the way to go. It receives the weather channels too which can be beneficial. I read a couple reviews and it seems off road enthusiasts like it. Neither radio is very powerful. Either way you choose I'd invest in a better than average antenna.

If it's pink, you like it, and it isn't great, the worst case scenario is you're out $129 bucks and a bit of time. I'd say rock it. It all depends on how far back you want to go into a park or BLM land... @1taco2motos is exactly right.

I'm typically around 30-32psi with a little less in the rear. sometimes lower if it's slick out. there's a bit of a 'good zone' with everything and that's all relating to ambient temps and stuff so I'm changing it often, but that's the ballpark. they are ok, but it's all about the package and how you use it. it rides somewhere between a truck and a sports car. and that makes no sense. check it out if you're in DFW. the tires have very low compliance, so the compliance comes from my suspension and driving style both.

Do you off-road with any issues ??
Did you put a leveling kit on ??
I love that setup but I'm afraid I may have issues off-roading.....

No issues off roading, no leveling. If you like the look, do it. If you're on the fence, then don't.

are we comparing Toyota's bottom of the line to King's top of the line here? it's not as soft i guess but not sure there's a comparison exactly.

edit: sorry i think I'm confusing some threads. didn't mean to confuse. my suspension and chassis setup is a bit custom, so not an exact comparison. but yes I'm on Kings now and although they are similarly soft to the OR base kit, they have far more control and are mounted to a reinforced non-stock chassis.

This is not true. The SL wildpeaks I have on my truck (265/70/17)have more than a 200# advantage in weight capacity of the stock tires. A C wildpeak in the stock size has the exact same weight carrying capacity of the stock goodyears.

My truck has about 49k miles and probably 15k of that is towing with 0 issues. I'm also at or around (over) max payload 100% of the time.

265-75-R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs in Load Range C are your best option. They will fit without any modification and are the equivalent of about a 32" tire. They are the most aggressive tire you can get in a load range C for this size, and believe me you want load range C unless you are constantly offroading in sharp rock situations. They are great in snow/mud due to their soft durometer and large side lugs/high void areas. Ive had K02's before and they were downright dangerous in the wet PNW snow and mud. The lugs just get packed with material and then you essentially have a racing slick.

They ride relatively quiet but expect to see a 1-2 mpg loss due to the taller size and increased rolling resistance over the stock tires. Still i can achieve 19-20 mpg on the highway if i baby it. They can be a little tricky to balance but thats kind of the nature of more aggressive tires. I have 55K on my current set and they actually still have decent life left. However since it is winter a new set is going on on Friday. The only comparable tire i can think of in this load range would be a Falken Wildpeak but it isnt quite as aggressive. I wish there were more aggressive load range C options in this size but there just aren't that many.
