thank you, its become quite challenging to maintain it as the years are creeping by with the winter climate it has endured.
I have not driven it into Alabama yet, just northern Mississippi and Tennessee the first month or so I had it.
a big concern right now is developing the knee problems my Dad had in his 50s that would probably prevent me from safely operating a manual transmission, have only personally owned MT since 1989 (... 30 years now, wow i am reminded how old i am getting)
that is why i dislike having to figure out what maintenance and looming repairs needed underneath it that i can do being not very mechanically inclined, the constant up and down with the media blaster, paint, etc. of the past several months has been quite taxing on my musculoskeletal system.
its been extremely low maintenance thus far but will be needing suspension replaced and possibly the driveshaft if that is the source of the weird vibes it has been having during the past year

putting some imported Canadian stuff to the test, took 10 days to arrive from Ontario

was recommended by @over60 so am going to give it a shot on the front suspension going head-2-head with FF on the other side

almost done 'winter proofing' all my wheel openings
had to pull most all grommets from fender liners to access metal parts behind everything
i have not ever pulled these out before, other than the body shop perhaps pulling the front passenger one to repaint the fender maybe 10 years ago
these grommets were a royal pain to pull, probably took more than 2 hours snapping them off with perhaps improper tools
there was so much dirt from mud and sand caked in the arch mouldings that i had to spend another couple of hours to clean them out so the clips things would freely slide, i broke one on my first attempt  and will cost more if i need to replace the whole moulding trim, the sliding things are not individual pieces.

    molding clip broken.jpg
found out that WD40 is best used to drown these in, as opposed to tap water, to free them up, move back and forth to wipe out caked mud and sand, repeatedly. If i had an extra hand i probably would have incorporated some high psi blasts to blow chunks out from behind. maybe next time...

received delivery of a newish product from Texas to help combat the winter monster
    details to follow...

so far this winter season has seen very little snow and slop accumulation here, might have to drive north a few hours to SD and MN to pickup some roadspray to test this product out, there's at least a foot of the white stuff up north

the FF aka fluid film i had used to protect the cleanly blasted frame section on the passenger side ended up failing to prevent flash rust from occurring.
it was 10 F out so i hit the DIY heated garage/lift in Bellevue for an hour an a half to clean the remaining FF, wiped thoroughly with some phosphoric acid afterblast to clean as much flash rust as i could, some of it did not come off around the spring perch area where i had been hosing the winter slop off the past couple of weeks, will have to reblast that section when the weather gets warmer.

In the meantime i foam brushed some CF 3000 to see if it will do a better job of preventing moisture and salt through to the clean metal until i can apply the extreme primer

completed a 3-day 1900 mile journey across my entire state to the middle of Colorado and back this week with no issues other than some strange MPGs :notsure:

since I have always taken I-80 to get to Colorado or Wyoming in the past I opted to hop off onto the US-6/US-34 highways and see some more of my state that I have not ever seen in the southern part.

this is at the NE/CO border on US-34 ... it was cloudy for pretty much all day long and i had traveled about 8 hours to get this far! which included a stop for lunch in Holdrege and gassing up in McCook.

... starting the internal frame cleaning project, this could possibly take a couple of months to properly get taken care of

seems to be some moderate humidity / condensation corrosion built up on the internal surface :notsure:

fuel is now the lowest i remember seeing since before hurricane Katrina in August 2oo5

    IMG_0333.jpg

here is where i turned 140k in western Iowa on US-30 right before crossing the MO river into Blair NE, this highway was one of a few highways over the river opened in the then historic flood of 2o11 that went on for months it seemed. I recall the sandbag barriers were near bottom window high on this road then and truck maybe crossed it two or three times that summer
