Trd offroad wheel pics and alignment question!

    Got my trd offroad wheels installed. It looks great! One question I have is if my caster is out of spec? Its .6° difference between driver and passenger which seems excessive. posted a pic of how the tech sent me out with my truck and its shaking a little on the highway. Wondering if it's a wheel balance issue or the castor!? The wheels look great though! Looks like they were made for this truck. Running the ome 883 coils and 5100s.

    my castor has like a 1.5 degree difference and drives fine its probably your tires.

    Out of spec caster is not going to cause a shake. An out of balance wheel & tire - or a tire with excessive road force numbers - will.

    BTW, your caster is well within specs.

    Caster jives especially with the lift. Just had mine aligned Tuesday and had them bump up the caster to 2.20 right and 2.13 left. Increasing caster helps alleviate the no feedback feel that can come with lifted rigs. Your shimmy vibe is most likely tire related, is the shake steering wheel, pedals or passenger seat?

    Its when I get to about 55mph the steering wheel starts to shake which is making me lean more towards the wheel balance. Then when I press the brakes as well it starts to as well so I'm not sure. Really weird. At discount tire now.

    Got them balanced and it fixed it! Idk how they were out. They are off a brand new 2020 Tacoma trd offroad literally out of balance from the factory... kinda weird. Oh well fixed now. By the way, I love my new wheels!

    When I had my alignment done at Goodyear they told me the caster should vary from side to side by ~.5
    The before specs where right after I lifted the front.

    I lot of guys like myself like to run an extra .5 degrees of caster on the passenger side, helps keep ya straight on the crowned highways.

    So the caster is easily adjusted? I've always liked it to be close to even. I've always been told it should be slightly more in the passenger side to compensate for the driver weight and crowned roads as well.

    If you have oe ucas you may not be able to get that much caster. Depending on where you get your alignment done some techs won’t purposely put it that far out, I’ve got a very good alignment guy.

    Yeah, stock upper uca here. I can ask the guy but I'm not even sure how you could move the castor around being stock uppers? O

    All the adjustments are made on the lower uca adjustment cams.

    Steering will feel a bit tighter, helps with that floating/light feeling of the truck at highway speeds, steering wheel self centering tends to be a better. Personally for me I feel road feedback is better and the overall feeling of the steering feeling tighter to me, specifically with larger tires.

    Looking at others who are running my wheels it looked like I should set my caster to 3.0
    This would keep my tires away from the pinch weld and cab mount.
    Things I learned to take into consideration for running my tire where wheel back spacing and caster.
