I ordered Black Rock 997 Type 8 17x9 with 4.5 backspacing and -12 offest steel rims and 265/65r17 Hankook Dynapros. I fit checked the rims without the tires and the backside rubbed against the caliper. I impulse bought 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers because I didn't want to go with non hub centric ones but now I'm realizing it may push the wheels out so much that I rub. Will I have to do a cab mount chop? I don't mind using a heat gun for the fender liner but the cab mount chop is a little much for me. Thanks

You will most likely rub with spacer and it might even be close without it. 9" wide wheels is kind of wide for only 265's. You could have gone with 8 or 8.5" if they make them in that size. I have 17x8.5 with -10 offset with 305/65/17 tires and get some slight rubbing on the mount. Your 265 tires will be roughly 3/4" narrower on each side but the 17x9 -12 will push it out roughly 3/8" more so you will be real close. I also have SPC UCA's that are adjusted forward more than stock so you might be even closer with stock control arms. You could probably grind down the calipers if it's barely touching but there is always the chance a wheel weight might still contact the caliper if they are needed in the location where it's scraping.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I'm going to but the bullet and return the wheels. I'll lose out on the return shipping but I can't return them once they get mounted.
