Thats pretty cool. But isn't the bed pretty much useless? I guess you could stick some taller things in it that you regularly couldn't in an fj.

If the bed were a little longer and it had a full set of second doors... then it would be a Tacoma! But overall for basic running around and some light hauling duties it looks cool enough.

Oh man the avalanche, what a sad example of a "truck." There's more plastic on that than there is in a toys-r-us.

Doesn't appeal to me personally but I do appreciate the innovation and the ingenuity required to get it done. Friends wife has an FJ and is shopping around for a removable hardtop modification but hasn't found the one that hits all the right buttons for her yet. Anyone know the info on the shop that did this so I can pass it along in case they do other FJ projects as well?

That bed looks like it could be a decent size for a offroad/recovery/camping kit. And the FJ is a wicked capable trail truck.

    Still wouldn't buy it tho.

Mod note: Moved to the General Autos section...

I believe a truck must have the bed isolated from the cabin...otherwise heavy loads in the bed will be transferred through the cab and make rough roads very uncomfortable to passengers. It looks like a sport utility with an open bed, not a truck.
