Exactly, I had some weird things happening with mine. Way to weird for a $70k truck with less than 30k mikes on it.

With hopes of no further unsolicited financial consulting...

My girlfriend bought a new TRD OR rav like a week after I bought my truck. She had a 2 door wrangler and commutes like 2 hours a day so it was time. Got a great 2 car deal from Liberty Toyota here in the springs. Idk about a TRDOR rav-4 but it’s cool for what it is. Comfortable, great on fuel and fits the dogs. Can’t beat it, except for a Tacoma of course. Now which one do I drive to Maine next week?

Looking forward to your build on the taco, they’re fun and great support here if you can get past all the “search” guys.
That said and on a more serious note, the Ford 5.0 NA 4X4 is good work horse on & off-road.
Other trims maybe not so much. Those are mostly made for the 101 dummy and newbies crowd with too much stupid money to spend.

The size differences as others have pointed out is the reason I got the Taco, and the right F-150 has its advantages too, however there’s no beating the taco when it comes to on & off-road FuN

And at the end of the day, it's all about the FuN

    Cheers!

You know, I never had an issue with my old 5.0 F150. Put lots of miles on it and never an issue. Was a great truck. When I was shopping for the raptor it kind of blew my mind that some of the other F150 trims were even more expensive than the raptor! The platinums were like $80k if I remember right. Something to be said for a simpler truck that does everything well without all the extra flare!

^Agree, I like the blend of simplicity and technology that the Tacoma offers....plus its one of the few trucks left on the market I can actually reach over the boxside and grab something off the floor of the bed LOL

Yeah it as too late to dock once I got him and I wasn’t putting him under for an operation. He loves that tail and so do his babies.

I can honestly say that yours is one of the best looking Tacoma’s I’ve ever seen, you’re doing it right and it’s turning out awesome.

    LMAO...

Not sure what your mileage is on either vehicle, but the manual for the Taco says not to do a long drive (same speed/gear) for the first 1000 miles or so. Perhaps the RAV4 is the same way.

Thanks a lot. I do know what you mean in most regards. I've driven a couple ZF transmissions, ZF makes the Ford 10sp, and they are simply the best auto transmissions out there. Everyone is going to 7-10sp transmissions or CVT's for fuel economy, except Toyota for now. I love the size of the Tacoma, it's perfect IMO, I just really struggle with the lack of power and the crap trans. I'm waiting to load the OV Tune performance tune on my truck, then hoping to get their TT kit once it's released.
A Tacoma that can compete with a Raptor on every level, but with Toyota's quality, is the perfect truck!

I actually didn't even know there was an OR Rav. I think I'd put some slightly larger tires on it, but it looks really good.

It's actually pretty badass (for being a RAV4 :D) My dealer had one on their showroom floor that they had put slightly larger BFG A/Ts on, an aftermarket roof rack, a ladder on the back, and LED bars and pods in various places and it looked awesome. I would not mind my wife getting one of those at all (though I think she'll be getting a Macan Turbo...made the mistake of suggesting she takes one for a test drive :p ).

I have to say those Raptors look pretty boss. Too bad they are so big and so expensive.

I have the same Tacoma with the same options. Great vehicle!

Ha you'd think on a Tacoma forum the opinion would be near universally pro Taco, but there seems to be a very vocal group of posters who hate their truck or have switched to something else and continue to shit post about how inferior their Taco was to their current vehicle. :notsure:
