Insurance auto auction is your connection. Bid on line but get ready , registration under a dealer is required and get your wallet ready. Totals are bringing big bucks. I see them all the time.

I’d be iffy if I was to DD it. The taco frames fold pretty good in an accident. If you’re gonna wheel it. Go for it

You might want to post in the WTB 3rd forum.

Assuming you want a 3rd gen, since that's where you posted. IF you want something else, you need to specify.

You should also give a rough location and radius you are willing to travel and haul. All this will make your life easier.

BTW, if you are seeking 3rd gen, a blown engine will be very rare at this stage, and wrecked w/o insurance will be even rarer. Since only cash buyers get to drive uninsured on collision.

Thanks for all the input. I’m trying to avoid all auction cars and am well aware of copart and IAA. Auction cars go thru a lot between the accident and the various tow companies that end up damaging the truck more than even the accident at times. Looking for a 2nd or 3rd Gen from the original owner who’s totaled their truck and wants to make some money on the side by buying the truck back and selling it. Let me know what you got.
