Leaf springs best paint?

    Soon to drop off my Icon RXT pack and fix the squeak noise. Also will check for original paint rub-off from friction, rust, etc. What paint is recommended for leaf springs to resist to rust and friction?

    Graphite paint.
    I've read recommendations not to paint between the leafs where they contact each other. Theory is, it will wear away causing the center bolt to loosen and fail.

    You can also spray the springs with silicone-based lubricant to prevent rusting
