OV Dongle Tune

I have a OVTune kit that I no longer need. Sold my Tacoma for a Tundra. I returned the Tacoma back to the stock tune. Selling it for $250 and new owner would have to buy a new licence from OVT which I believe is $325.

 

Did you get a tundra sport?

I always wondered when I bought mine if they would make one since they had all but a sport. Then seems like the next year or two they came out with one. I just love the scoop

 

Nope, I got a 2020 SR5 with the SX package for a sweet deal. I liked the scoop on my Tacoma but on the Tundra it's just a stick on added part. Not a fan.

He has no use for it since he now owns a tundra

 

understood, but selling his truck indicates to me that OVTune may not have solved whatever displeasure he had with the truck prior to purchasing the tune. Or maybe he just needed a bigger truck, but I wanted to clarify his experience with the tune since I've been considering it myself.

 

He has a big camper he tows

 

Just bought one used myself and bought the license. I am impressed with the more sharp pedal response, better, more natural shift points, but the huge power curve still is there although Matt has done a lot to make it as linear as possible. To me, the cost is reasonable in comparison to a lot of tunes for the product we're receiving.

 

It worked great and I wouldn't run the truck without the tune. It improved my fuel mileage and vastly improved the driveability of the truck. As already mentioned by Shellshock, the only reason I sold my Tacoma was because I bought a TT with a loaded weight just under 6K. Was just to much to ask the Tacoma to pull through the mountains. I was going to keep it because Matt was allowing a customer to switch from Tacoma to Tundra for a fee but he doesn't have a tune for the 2020 Tundra.

 

I'll buy it today if I can confirm the cost of the license from OV.
