That’s some power from a 3.5!! But still 81 less than a 5.7 and a 3” tAilpipe is too big for the 5.7, know what I mean?

Was just looking at your website today. I am a total noob when it comes to exhaust systems. I was looking for something that sounds better than my stock OR exhaust. I've looked at AFE and the TRD pro exhaust. Was hoping if you can give me a good configuration for my needs. My truck is a daily driver and I commute often. Last thing I want is drone but am looking for that throaty low sound. I've watched the videos and do like the sound a lot and that the fact that this is a true dual exhaust system. I tried to configure out an order on your website, but didn't really understand much of it. Can you advise a good configuration for me? Looking to spend a max $1k

As previously mentioned by a 2nd gen owner on here.. Respect for a properly constructed exhaust system. What a cool thread!

Because you lose torque with a free flowing exhaust without something (like a turbo). Torque is what pulls weight up a hill. Too much flow and the engine pressure is at a loss. Less built pressure, less torque to utilize

Just spoke with Keith on the phone and he's super helpful. I explained my situation with becoming boosted and wanted a high flow exhaust system, so we settled on a custom 3" system. My main concern was NO DRONE, so a helmholtz resonator will be the ticket. Can't wait!

Cool. I've been reading up on his exhaust system. Hope you can give us a review on it after it's installed.
I'm hoping this isn't taking you away from completing the dome and map lights!!!

Torque loss occurs when you replace headers as they do all the scavenging. Since you cannot replace the headers on these trucks, this is a null point.

Not really. Many guys that installed a full 3.0 exhaust are reporting a noticeable loss in torque and “felt power”

If you have stock headers flow out to a larger diameter exhaust pipe the flow pressure changes which changes the amount of torque for the engine to build up pressure in a constant flow

If you look at the research and testing done by OVtune your point about headers shows that his dump tubes can help a ton with this issue when done correctly

You can change the “dump tubes” (essentially the headers on these trucks since all the cylinders dump into a single tube)

That's what's called a "down pipe". Call it whatever you want, the headers and collector are cast into the head of the engine block so there is no way to effectively change the exhaust scavenging without really f'ing up the engine.

Ah, the old reliable butt dyno. Of course it's going to "feel" slower if the truck is loud as hell now but doesn't go any faster.

Is that how you always respond when you're proven wrong? Kind of embarrassing.

I just saw your PM. I have not. I have it part of the way done but then I stopped to do some other mods first

    UPDATE:

One of these days when it is nicer out I need to update this thread and post some NEW Videos of my System. I no longer have the prototype on my truck and I have the real deal. I absolutely love it. I also installed the Resonator that is just past the Rear Axle by the Spare Tire location. You use a 2” bi metal hole saw to drill the hole and then cover it. Here’s an older video but shows you how to install the Resonator.

    https://youtu.be/i79q3q3kaHs
Here are some pics of my system during my install. Not the greatest pics. I do apologize.

Like I said, I absolutely love this System now. The System is so much quieter than the prototype I had on my truck by far. So if you listened to the videos before and thought it was too loud, then this System is going to be something you are definitely going to want to take a look at for sure.

A little side note, mine originally had a side exit but I had to adjust mine due to my rear suspension and mine now has a Rear Dump. :) I’ll take a Pic of that too at some point. Anyways, that’s my updates for now.
