FJ80, but looking for a Tacoma Double Cab 4x4
My "80" 3" OME lift, ARB Air Lockers w 5:29's, 12K Warn Winch, ARB Bumpers F&R, links from Man a Fre, bits from Ironman, etc
    Hello Tacoma peeps(?)
I'm looking at 1st & 2nd gen used Tacoma Double Cab 4x4s (on craigslist, only so far), any input on which you think is better & why. Is the 2nd gen bigger physically inside & out? More leg / head room in one vs the other?
It's got to have a canopy for the dog.
Any mods you think should be first if bone stock?
I thinking ARB front bumper & a winch, 2 to 3 inch lift, lights & go from there.
What about the factory "packages / options" TRD vs the others.
I need a reliable truck for committing to Dr appointments etc, live in snow country.
Love my 80 but she's a thirsty girl.

Welcome! Not Sure about legroom, but my 2nd gen feels quite a bit wider that my old 1st gen. Should be a lot of threads with the actual specs. My 2nd gen (2014) is also a double cab, 1st gen (2003) was an access cab.

I thought my 2014 was a big upgrade. More comfortable, more modern cab features, backup camera. The prices people were asking for nice 1st gens were so high, it wasn’t hard for me to go w a newer one. Good luck on your search!
