EGR Problems at 150xxx miles. Truck has been sound since me getting it half those miles ago.

I believe my EGR valve is stuck open. What else could be causing the excessive gas code? Anyone have experience with P0402 on the 3RZ-FE?

It certainly sounds crudded up, if you have a vacuum pump place it on top of it or suck on the line (preferably not running) you should hear it creaking open and kinda thudding shut. If it’s leaking by the temp sensor will pick it up and toss the code

If it seems ok, check the vacuum switching valve that operates it.... good luck

A lot of times it’s actually the PCV valve or gasket that has gone bad and or the hose is leaking or the PCV hose. You get the same code

So I had a long ass day at the shop. And a few beers. Too lazy to go out in the (cali) cold and get in the engine. I checked earlier and gaskets were fine. I took out the EGR and metal piping and discovered crud out the ass. Going to guy to my local gun store and pick up some barrel snakes and CLP or something like that. The thing literally looked like the inside of my old M4 after a day at the range! I have yet to test to VSV but I'm hoping that this will help.
