    It wasn't just
Wasn't limited to the Honda Civic crowd. That jackass Gadget had the Tacoma crowd cutting holes and gluing boat deck plates into their air boxes thinking they were getting something beyond noise.

Changing spark plugs on my firs car (77 T/A), I pulled the threads on one of the plugs. Called my grandfather to ask for help (retired old-school auto mechanic). He came over with a roll of Teflon tape. Wrapped the plug and forced it into the hole (by hand). I drove the car that way for a 2 days until he could get a heli-coil installed for me.

I was doing my first brake job on my dad's Chevy van... overtorqued the caliper bolt and stripped it out...

Drove that way for years after, steering wheel would shake when you had to brake hard...

Oh speaking of ricer days I used to have a Plymouth neon... thought it was fast (automatic) and was playing with it shifting in and out of neutral and accidentally put it in reverse while doing around 40... engine died but apparently I never broke anything.

As much of a piece of junk that car was I loved it.

My brother had a Neon SRT-4...that was a legitimately quick car until he melted the valves lmfao.

Way back in the wayback times, got the tension too tight on my 1976 Chevette's timing belt - it ran for about 50 miles, then the overtension caused the camshaft to break.

Put a front brake pad into my 1997 F150's caliper with the pad side out, and the side with the metal studs/bosses sticking out toward the disk. My 3-year old daughter rode with me on the test drive: "why's it making that sound Daddy?" Scored that disk real good.

Various other faux pas too numerous and inane to mention...

When I was a a diesel mechanic one of the other mechanics did this with the bulk oil fill gun on an 855 Cummins. Set it to 44qts, pulled the lock on trigger and went to take a dump.

Can we get the story of this? Is it an actual/active police car? Are you a cop? Was it a promotional thing or a practicality thing?

20 years ago I put on a clamp on exhaust end on my civic. After about a year it came off while I was driving on the interstate, thankfully I didn’t notice it and I’m assuming it didn’t hit anyone. All I know is when I got to my destination it wasn’t there and it was on there as I was leaving the gas station off one of the exits.

It was an impressive one. He left the full drain pan (bottom of a 55gal drum) under it so it was overflowing new and used black oil everywhere. Took tons of floor dry and a pressure washer to clean up the mess.

I was servicing my honda accord check valve lash, and I was using a wrench on the PS pulley to turn the engine over to adjust each valve set. I finnished but forgot to remove the wrench from the pulley.. heard the wrench hit more than a few metallic notes... luckily no damage. I over tightened the valve adjustment, and it hardly ran, had to redo it..

Speaking of the Decked system. After installing mine, I realized that I forgot to plug in my flat plug extension cord into the bed outlet. Still haven't done the partial disassembly to go back and plug it in.

I heard from few mechanics that fieros were one of the worst vehicles built.

Had 87 camaro and it was the biggest piece of shit i have owned, i honestly replaced/fixed everything and eventually my engine siezed. I had fun tho and i was in high school.

GM was horrible in that era.
