Hello everyone. I am new to posting but not new to the forum as I have followed it since 2010. I love reading about all the cool stuff everyone does to their truck and today I did something to my 2012 access cab that I think is worth sharing. I had the opportunity to buy a AFE Mach Force cat-back exhaust for dirt cheap but it was for a 3rd gen double cab tacoma. I looked on here but couldn't find anyone who had retro-fitted new exhausts to old trucks so I took a chance and.....it works great!!!!!! I can't say if it will work for 2nd gen double cabs but they should. It requires minor cutting of the new and old piping: I cut my existing muffler off, tossed the new mid pipe, spliced the AFE piping to the old mid pipe, had to trim 3" off the over-axel pipe, and bent the hanger on the new tailpipe 90 degrees (heated till glowing with torch). Exhaust hangers are the exact same, muffler inlet/outlet is the same, over-axel is in the same place. Works and sounds great. If anyone has any questions feel free to hit me up.

Kudos for using the band clamps instead of the cheap U bolt type.

I wouldn't call that, it fits... you did cutting and modifying. When people say it fits, they are expecting to bolt on.

Though this is great info for the community.

Hello anyone here still around the TacomaWorld? This post is a bit old, but I'm hoping there's some life in it..

ID like to pick your brain based on everyones experience.

I have a 2010 taco 4x4 crew cab long bed, and I am in need of a Y-pipe. I found someone on TW that has a one of a 2015 taco extended cab 4x4.

Do you think it would fit?
From the pictures he sent me the pipe and hangers looks the same..

Just need some guidance, as I wouldn't be able to return should it not fit..
