Went to our local Lowe’s to check out the pit boss on sale and they had one on display. We determined it was a little small for our needs since we have a Traeger that’s similar in size. They say it’ll hold 4 racks of ribs. I took a couple photos for anyone that’s curious to see what it looks like in the real world.

The 456sq" includes the warming rack. 353sq" cooking grates. It's small, but for 2 people I bet it works just fine.

They do seem very well built. After looking at the larger ones the 465 seemed like such a cute little thing. And realized it is perfect size for me, especially as a starter. It followed me home, I couldn't resist.

The Borg, resistance is futile. In other words don't fight it the pellet poopers are taking over. Doesn't matter what brand...

Curt has it right, never thought I'd own a damn pellet pooper :anonymous:

I think I will like it too! Need to haul it in the house piece by piece out of the back of the truck and put it together. And finish chipping ice and shoveling snow on the deck where I want to put it.

Temp is 5 above now and dropping, wind chill is -10. Was thinking after burn in was going to do a steak and use grillgrates for the sear. If it will come up to temp. From what I read think it is safe to start at P2 with these temps. Going to measure it once setup and order welding blanket felt and industrial magnets to hold it on to the outside.

Doesn't it have a slideout thing that lets it direct sear with fire?

It does have a slider. Thinking the grillgrates should get even hotter with it. Hey I have a new toy to test that theory out :)

Not sure I am going to get there tonight. Really tired of shoveling and messing with snow and ice.

Yes the top part of the heat shield or whatever you call it should slide and you’ll get that direct fire
