That's what I am thinking. This wouldn't work for me. But perhaps it will for the OP.

I had a canopy with no front window, it had a rubber seal. It worked pretty well. The seal wore the paint off the cab due to them moving independently. I still had a window in the cab. The seal leaked a little but it drained out since the seal flared out larger than the window.

I had a shell that did not come with a front window, just an opening with a rubber boot. It was on an '86 Toyota pickup. Drove it 330K+ for 20 years. Never leaked. It shouldn't be a problem to simply remove the shell window and cab rear window to add a permanent boot. Simple DIY project. In the RV world, they use accordion style boots between the cab and camper on van based RVs. As far as sleeping height, you'll have to get a highrise shell, such as a Leer 122.

The “seat delete” is a popular thing in the double cabs. If you pull the passenger seat, and lay down a removable platform, a normal height person can sleep in there. It’s actually a lot longer than the short bed when you consider the foot well.

I had a rubber boot to seal between the cap and the cab on another truck. The constant movement between the bed and the cab caused the boot to rub on the cab. It eventually wore the paint off the cab. I'll never do that again.

Only 4.3 inches, not 6 inches.

    Long bed is 73.7 inches.

13.2 inches longer than the short bed! It’s the same for the wheelbase.
1.2 inches is a lot to some people.

Toyota SofTex synthetic leather, similar to Naugahyde.

    Nauga, tastes like chicken.

How about a breezer window (~$300) plus a boot/seal/gasket and remove window on shell. The breezer closes back up with removable middle section for improved security and weather proofing of cab.[IMG]

Isn't that standard on the Tundra? My thoughts are it sounds like you either want a Tundra or a 4R with the back seats folded down.

I'm guessing Tao is pushing his product by signing up today and resurrecting a year old post.

In any case this reminds me of the 80s when slide-in campers were the rage in Cali. There were companies that would make a vinyl boot to go between your camper and the cab so you could easily access the camper while driving. Turned our camper into a motor home.
