Do any of you adjust the height of your softopper bars in the winter months? Reason I ask is, mine is set to the highest hole in the rail so its tightish in the summer. Now that the temp is dropping and I'll be making a trip to Ohio next week I was curious if I should drop the pin down one position to take some of the stress of the seams when the vinyl shrinks in the colder weather.

    Thoughts?

My ST came set on the middle hole. It was really tight to get all the snaps fastened no matter what I did with the straps. I dropped it to the lowest hole, and it has been perfect.

I would try dropping it and see if you get any flapping. I would bet there will be no issues on the middle hole for you, if not the bottom hole.

I also adjusted the tension for the windows. My front window as a bit saggy after the topper tension adjustment. With all snaps fastened, loosen the velcro. For the end that you are working on, add some tension to the safety straps, refasten the window hook and loop, and then release the straps.

Thanks tonered! I picked mine up second hand last year and it was on the second hole when I got it. After a long trip in the summer with the ambient temps in the 90's to 100's it looked and felt super loose so I bumped it up to the 3rd hole and it was great after that. I tried adjusting it down to the second hole yesterday and it looks like I might be S.O.L its pretty loose now and no amount of strap or window adjustment will dial out the flapping. I'll just adjust the straps as needed, leave it in the 3rd hole and hope for the best when the temps drop haha.

Thanks again for the heads up!

No problem. You might reach out to the Softopper folks and see if they have any suggestions. They were seriously great to deal with for the group buy.

    Hopefully you get it sorted.
