    My 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport double cab four-wheel drive 6-speed manual transmission. the clutch started creaking about 7,000 miles on my brand new truck. I took it to a Toyota dealership close to my house and they said that was the normal why wasn't settling for that so I took it to another dealership close to my house and they told me also it was normal I said what there needs to be a fixed someone needs to check it and they did and they came back with the answer that it fell under Toyota service bulletin T-SB-0122-19. They are replacing the whole clutch pedal assembly. Thank God. The creaking was driving me nuts.

    Yes a well documented issue had mine done at 22k. The ironic part is I think they are replacing it with the exact same parts so its not an if, but when it happens again.

    "Normal" :rofl:

    I didn't know ghetto was normal.

    If I remember correctly guys, there is a post floating somewhere on here which involves regularly greasing the pedal assembly because it dries up. It's not okay and it's not fair but these are the fallacies of the MT Tacomas you guys will have to live with.

    The problem is regular greases melt off in high temperatures and the old barn door sound returns, getting all the pivot points with High Temperature Disc Brake Grease will take care of it as it won't melt.

    Yep. High temp grease is the cure for most of these noise issues for sure.

    You can use brake grease to stop it, but I love the creak. Just toyota things.

    Were the parts update though or just the new TSB covered more recent years?

    I believe that there is a sort of bushing where the spring contacts the clutch arm now, I think there's a picture in that thread link. Or maybe I saw it in another thread.

    You need to make sure you lube the pivot point of the slave cylinder actuator. It hides in a small bucket that you need to get up into with a spray extender. Look closely and you will see what I am referring to.

    this, and additionally the inside of the coil of the return spring. a good way to apply disk brake grease is to use a couple finger dab with a nitrile glove on and work it into the coil.'s inside helps with the stubborn groaning.

    @St.Germain How’s your LC clutch pedal/ linkage conversion coming? My 2020 Pro 6MT should be delivered around end of Feb and I’m already planning the ‘necessary’ mods. Seems like we have a similar mod style, so I’ve appreciated your posts. Cheers

    My clutch pedal creaks but I'm not going to subject the truck to dealership mechanics for replacement. If it were some kind of mechanical failure sure but for a creaking clutch, c'mon? I suppose I first heard the creak sometime after 5k miles were clocked on the odometer; precisely when I thought, "how friggin cheap." But hey, for roughly $36k we get a bit of nostalgia included. The creaking sound actually reminds me of early 1900's technology. Guess I'll pick up some high temp grease next time I pass the store.
