If you don't get the spray, you don't get the extended warranty.

I had a 2005 Tacoma inspected. Said all was good and sprayed that black crap all over under. Messy shit. 6 months later I traded it in. A friend of a friend wanted my truck so bad he went into the dealer where I traded the next day and bought it. 2 months later he was at his mechanic getting an oil change and his mechanic pulled him in and said look, your frame it rotted. It had a golf ball size hole in the front boxes area where they all go. With that said, I filled my 2019 front boxes sections with fluid film last year and soaked the entire under side. This month I power washed it and it still looked new with no rust. I then filled the front boxes with wool wax and really loaded everything else with it. Filled all the rocker and floors where the plugs are as well. Inside the doors, tail gate, up around the wheel wells etc. I will never let Toyota spray that crap on my truck. I would rather fluid film or wool wax every fall and have my original frame. Not 3 idots dissasemblng my truck to put in a new frame that will have the same problem.

Cab Mount Chop. So you can put larger tires on the truck without rubbing in that area.

Toyota can stick their frame warranty in their butt then.

Seems like Mavcoat is for bare steel. Got any ideas for an already coated Taco frame?

I spray over my painted frame, works just as fine. If you’re coated in something absurd like por15, who knows. It won’t hurt.

Im gonna have the dealership take a look at my 2015 when I take her in for the 60k mi service. I havent gotten a letter yet, but I bought her in Florida, she was a florida girl at first, but we took her to denver a week after we got her, and now she's getting the winter treatments. I know Colorado is milder on the cars as they dont use the salt method (i think), but wondering if they say no Im not covered under this umbrella am I good to just buy a couple cans and just get under and spray this CRC stuff all over the frame as much as I can? I havent done any kind of undercoating treatment on this yet, but thinking that I should probably be proactive as Im already seeing a couple rust spots from rock chips on the surface of the door that catches rocks by the windows. Thanks!

I live in Wisconsin and just got my letter yesterday for my 17 Tacoma that I traded in last month for a 19 Tacoma. I assume that means letters are still going out.

Got the letter in for my 2016.T it to a local shop here in NH and had them give it a good undercoated. They said if I make it a yearly thing I should have no problem with rust.

Also in WI where salt is like gravel on the roads. That garbage is never going on my frame, although the product itself is not entirely to blame. Frame prep is probably more at fault and I do not trust dealers to care enough to put any effort into it. They get paid by Toyota to apply this stuff, then get paid again for the frame replacement a few years later.

My plan is to frequently run through carwash with underbody spray, trade every 6-7 years, and never worry about it. If you wait until the 8-10 year mark around here, you start to see paint bubbles in the body panels and then it is all down hill from there.
