My 2014 - Entune Head Unit - Updated Software installed. Purchased new iPhone - connects just fine to Bluetooth, after approx. 2 mins.. Head Units drops power (reboots), then connects.. 2 mins later.. reboots.. never ends .. disconnected phone from Head Unit .. stops rebooting. Easy to reproduce, so if find answer it will fix it. I also have an Apple Watch I wear that is not connected to Head Unit. Suggestions?

    thanks

I found this thread on the 3rd gen section. Looks like people are claiming its the Apple watching causing the issue or the head unit needs a software update.

I have the same issue with my truck. The radio will freeze then restart on its own. Also sometimes when I plug in my IPhone into the USB charging port, it won’t connect to the radio. Works off and on

Same Issue on my 2015, took video of the reboots, and all software information to Apple Support. Also know Toyota not only affected. Seems Lincoln also. Apple techs said with all the issues at hand on their bluetooth issues at the moment, will be a while. But if anyone has any other info, would love to start using my head unit again as was intended. I will be contacting Toyota down the street, since they moved to Plano, and see what i can find out.

I have this same rebooting issue in my 2017 Tacoma SR5 and I complained to Apple about it. Apple we went so far as they installed a temporary profile on my iPhone (iOS 13.2.3) and collected logs of my phone trying to sync with the head unit. They collected comparative data of the head unit rebooting and of it acting normally. They said it's their fault in the iOS and a fix will be coming soon in the newest iOS update. No ETA however.

I actually had the opposite issue. With iOS 12.xx the radio would freeze and shut down if I tried using siri or voice to text. Even after an update from Toyota. Since iOS 13 I haven't had any issue. Sorry I'm no help here, just giving what I have found.

FWW I also have an apple watch and haven't noticed a difference whether my watch is on or not. Granted it's a version 1 apple watch so it doesn't have the same connection capabilities as the newer ones that could interfere.

2019 Tacoma Sport and iPhone X has just developed this issue 3 days ago, before running the iOS 13.3 update. Radio resets every minute or so, after all the research I had hopes 13.3 would resolve it however it did not in my case. After spending more time and trials I have found a solution in my case. Not syncing contacts did seem to work but wasn’t satisfied with that as I have been syncing all contacts since day 1 without issue. So with further investigation I found that by deleting pictures assigned to contacts eliminated the issue so far. So if you have pictures assigned to your contacts this may be your issue as well. Hope it helps someone. Thanks to everyone for the information, it has been valuable.
