I have seized wipers so I removed the linkage and brought it inside, sprayed with PB blaster and let it soak. One of them became unseized, but the other one is still seized up. Is there a way to remove the spindle from the housing?

    I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_Mlvf09k6s

...but my spindles do not seem to have a retaining clip as described in the video. Is it not supposed to have one, or are mine just missing? I tried giving the spindle some taps with a hammer but it didn't budge. I also didn't have any luck popping off the ball joints to re-grease them. Trying to pry them off was just bending the linkage, so I bent them back into place and left them be. Also, if anyone knows the bolt size and thread for the bolts to secure the linkage to the body, please let me know as 4 out of 6 snapped in half while unbolting them and I need to find replacements.

    Pics below.

Used linkage on ebay is under $35

I'd rather not spend the money and would rather repair something that is repairable. I did find the retaining clips - they're these tiny little things much smaller than the ones in the video, and a pain to get off, so one of the pins slid out and I've cleaned it up, but still working on the other one.

Wow at least you were able to get the wiper motor off the linkage. I couldn't figure it out when I tried to seal my cowl.

For that, I took a 12mm wrench on this nut at the back and removed it there instead of at the ball joint. Took a fair amount of force to get it loose, and then once that was off, I tried to pull it out, and even tap with a hammer. I ended up having to spray some PB blaster on it, wait a little while, and give the motor spindle a few taps with a hammer, and then it finally came loose.

Ah good to know. I was scared I was going to damage the motor or shear off the nut when I tried.

Finally got the other spindle out of the housing after soaking it in vinegar and then PB blaster overnight. Took quite a few blows of a hammer to the top of the spindle with the housing held in a vice. Lots of pitting on the spindle and housing - I'm surprised they don't have o-rings to seal out the weather. Happy to have saved $ buying a new or used one on eBay though.

Ended up not being able to get the nut on the threads after hitting it with a hammer, but I rethreaded it with a tap and die set and everything is fitting smoothly now!

How did you manage to get the retaining clips off. I’m having a similar problem?
