    If you want your money's worth now get the Taco. If you really want a 4Runner wait till they remodel it in 2021/22

    The 4Runner is super out dated.

    Looks like a GX, which has already been mentioned.

    I was looking at Rangers today.

    Yeah, full floating may not necessarily be the best terminology. What I meant is that the wheel, hub and bearings are fully supported independently of the axle. You can pull the axle shaft completely out and drive the vehicle. You can disassemble and replace or relubricate the bearings without needing to remove the axle shaft.

    The 200-series shares its design with other modern Toyota models like the Tundra and Sequoia and relies on the axle shaft to support the wheel bearings.

    That is true for North American models, which is why I only mentioned the front, but there are 100-series Cruisers with full floating rear in other markets. The 200-series is semi-floating in all markets. Not all 80-series were full floating either.

    Me too... maybe one day. We’ve almost reached importable age for the updated 2005’s and nearing the really updated 2007’s being able to come into Canada...

    I agree with that, the frame not being fully boxed on the Tacoma definitely means it’s a bit less rugged in general. I’d be curious to see overall torsional rigidity numbers for the frame on a Tacoma and a Hilux to compare though and see how much less rigid it actually is, but I suspect it’s a not insignificant amount.

    I had a 2014 Trail Edition T4R. Now I have a 2016 TRD Off Road Taco. I love the T4R but got the Taco since it was more practical for hauling stuff.

    4runner = no

    Don't be lured in by the superior Japanese build quality. Get the tacoma 4 door truck, for the following reasons:

    1) Bed to actually haul shit. You can haul an awkward 300lb Stairmaster, plus a squat rack (ask me how I know) with ease. Also the storage space in the bed is better for smelly muts that like to chew the interior up and get their dirty paws all over my expensive sr5 cloth seats (ask me how I know). I have even hauled a sheep in the bed (while the dog was in the back seats chewing up everything , but at least he was not getting scared by the sheep in the bed). Additionally, when camping you can access all the storage space from the back tailgate and side of the bed instead of of that dumb treasure chest hatch that the 4runner has. Three dirty mtn bikes? Good luck with that. Ohhhh "but I have a bike rack on the trailer hitch"...okay so does that prius overthere, pishhh.

    2) Off road. Lower center of gravity so you can drift like a champ. Also taco has leaf springs in the rear making upgrading to 18"+ of travel (with 62" deavers) and race sock through the bed easy as 1, 2, 3. Try adding a shock hoop and bypass shocks in the back of your shitty 4runner without dust and constant clicking from the bypass shocks driving you instain.

    3) Looks. Just look at the front lights and grill of both , yeah that's what I thought. Also SUV= soccer mom. Yeah , don't forget to swing by bed bath and beyond for that sale they are having on scented candles ... lame-O
