I would be glad to help out another TW member and take a look at some local parts, but the listing for the TRD wheels has a red flag that suggests it's a fake/scam (highlighted).
It could be legit, but I felt I should mention it.

Yeah I saw that... I do the same thing when I list on craigslist though. I wouldn't say it for sure is a scam based off of that. But it definitely makes you question things off the bat.

Ahhh I have never heard of that. So its not a "scam" in the sense of trying to steal money, but instead collect active email addresses?

It's called fishing. The worst part is, once they get your email, then they send you an email, later, not right away, embed a virus or a worm, and next thing you know you're hacked.

They could also just be email collectors for larger organizations that do the behind the scenes work and use their anonymity as their defense.

I had just about $6k into my 17' Sport at the time it was totalled. Since it saved my life in that accident there was no doubt that another Tacoma would replace it. I really thought long and hard about my choices weighing all the pro's/con's. Basically though, it came down to buy an OR and mod it or buy a Pro and only need to add what it's missing. It was a tough choice because there is a lot of gratification in modding a vehicle to suit your needs. It's pretty badass to be able to step back and see the metamorphosis. However, for me, it took 2.5 years to do. Mainly because the money tree in the backyard died a long time ago. So while I thought I would be ok with that again, really, I wasn't. I had let precious time go by that I should have been on trails with my forum buds. I knew though that everything I was doing would protect the truck from my stupidity and was completely necessary. i.e. I break shit a lot!

After my insurance company finally settled the claim everything changed. I didn't receive as much money as I thought I was going to get for the mods. Their reason was those things were not factory installed options and they classified them as "elected modifications". So they were willing to give me some money for some of the things but for anything like tires and wheels for example, I would have to replace them in kind. My hand was fractured and the truck was a twisted mess sitting in some tow yard south of Baltimore, over an hour from my house. I know my peeps on here would gladly help out but the task was way more than I wanted to take on. I even contacted Joe at Mobtown (all my armor was/will be from him) and he agreed that because of the tight toleranced fit of his products I would have to use a torch to remove any of it. That in fact, the uninstall on a frame that was now bent would make it impossible to unbolt and remove.

So I had to make a choice. Get an OR and mod it, over time again, or, buy a Pro and be ready to go from day one. A 2020 Pro was completely out of the question. A 2020 OR wasn't however, but oddly a 2019 Pro was less money.

That made the choice easier for me because the 19' Pro I bought has everything my Sport had and more. To make the decision even easier, the cost of a 19' Pro was going to be $4.00 less a month (yes, four dollars) than my 17' Sport. Except now, in addition to the OEM items on Pro that are equally or better than the mods I did on the Sport, now I have a 10 year 100k mile warranty, leather seats, a rear locker, JBL stereo, Oh, and the Desert Air Package, aka, the Snorkel (it really is a sealed system, I checked). Oh, the price even included the Gap Insurance.

So yea, the OR would have had the locker but not the Snorkel. I could easily add a snorkel but now, it is covered by the factory warranty, including the fender that they cut/drilled/primed/painted with their process. Also, if I wanted to upgrade to the multi camera system, power seats, LED Headlights, and the Android Auto I would be over what a 19' Pro without those things cost.

I had Hikari LEDs from before, for the LB/HB so I was good. I use my phone in the truck to listen to music via Amazon Prime. I actually like the onboard Navi in Toyotas. Once I set my seat I never change it and since I was coming from cloth, the leather is much more comfortable and I set it the day I bought it and haven't thought about it since.

So, it sits as high as the 17' did. That had the 5160's & 6112's with a HS 3leafAAL. I had SCS Brushed Copper Ray 10s, this has the custom Pro wheels. It has Rigid fogs whereas I had Morimoto. I had Ridge Grapplers and the OEM tires on there are not Mud rated but they are ok until they wear out (I will know as soon as it snows).

So, apples to apples this is way more truck for less money and far less time. The only thing I'm taking off of it are the mud flaps and only if I have to. When the tires wear out I am putting new on there and upgrading to ST Maxx 255/85r16. I'm told these will stuff with minimal rubbing on plastic parts only and won't require the CMC or Pinch Weld mods.

Yes, I am modding this one too, but I am offsetting the costs by selling the tonneau off the Sport, and I recently sold the Predators to help pay for the sliders I already ordered. My Prinsu will be delivered today, and I have plans to sell some personal items I no longer use to help offset that cost. I put a Softopper on the other day, a couple hours. The Prinsu should take me a couple hours, and the sliders are bolt on too so another couple hours.

I do agree with you all though. Why buy a completely capable truck and pay the premium prices for things that you know you are going to replace. I was told though by a very reliable source that replacing the suspension on a Pro with Kings, or ADS, etc, is pretty common. Trust me though. For the next 10 years, you won't hear me say that.

I typically work around Pittsburgh but live in Indiana county.

Only got a coal rollin Golf which is why I haven't officially added myself to the list, can't really relay big stuff. But smaller stuff like @skatefreak282 skid plate fit just fine.
