2nd gen Tacoma fuel pump

Anyone had the fuel pump pick up tube come off?i run outta gas at a quarter tank. Wondering if the pick up tube just fell off if so can I put it back on or is it hard molded on??

 

Anything is possible I never heard of this ever happening.

Are you sure you don`t have a sending unit problem?

 

I have no idea all I know is when I have a quarter tank of gas my truck will turn off. Should I just replace the fuel pump or is there another solve for this problem

 

I think you gotta open it up to find out what's going on there.
Or live with it.
Those are your only 2 options.

 

It just may be that the sending unit or gauge is faulty. When you “run outta gas” how many gallons does it take to fill the tank? Your tank holds either 21 or 22 gallons. If you still have a quarter tank then it should only take about 15 gallons give or take a gallon or two to fill it. If it’s truly empty then it will take around 21 gallons or so.
