I'm new to this forum -

I just replaced the 2009 Toyota Tacoma water bypass pipe which was broke at the flange.

How was this part not a recall item - the replacement pipe is now metal - which is solid. With no lift and just working in the garage it was not a fun job. I like this truck - but with the overheating and lack of heat -due to the loss of anti-freeze - I'm hoping I didn't wreck the head gasket. Seems good so far - living in CT - only added to the fun...

Also On a separate issue or perhaps an off shoot of this problem - I have a oil smell coming into the cab. It may be coming from the PVC valve - how often should that be replaced and how?

I have almost 200K on this truck and never been to the shop except for recalls and tires... Can't complain for the most part.

Would like some help from Toyota with this though...? Any thoughts on initiating a recall -

Might not help me but could benefit others...

    Thanks.

    Greg
