I have seen so many "you can fit 33' on a stock suspension with no lift" posts but they are all referencing 16" wheels. I picked up 17" SEMA wheels- now trying to find the equivalent of "what will fit on stock suspension with no rubbing" kinda thing.

    going with KO2's...fwiw.

    Thanks

285/70/17 will be your “33” size option for a 17” rim.

Id expect some rubbing on stock suspension with 285s. Its not the height that gets you, but the width. A 255/80/17 would be a good option that probably wouldnt rub

Yes I forgot about pizza cutters. The other 33” size is 255/80/17

People are reporting no rubbing with 275/70-17’s. Not quite a 33 :notsure:

If you can find a 33" in a standard load (p-rated) then id go with that. There is no need for e-rated unless you are offroading a lot and want to air down. Heavy tires are the biggest performance killer you can do to these trucks, so try to find the lightest one possible imo

You will be constrained to what load ratings are available in the KO2s in the size you want. I'm pretty sure anything in a 33" tire will be load rate "E"

Falken makes the wildpeak at3w in a 285/70/17 standard load that weights 50.5lbs per tire.

For reference my 295/70/17 (33.23") Cooper ST maxx E-load weigh 66lbs per corner

Thanks for that. The KO2 doesnt come in the 255/80/17 unfortunately so your suggestion may be the next best thing if I want to stick with a skinny close to 33" huh?

I had 275/70/17 KO2s for a year or so and loved them. The only reason I got rid of them was to go with the 255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx. I love them, as well. You won't go wrong with either choice but it sounds like you're committed to the KO2s. You may have a bit of rub with the 275/70/17s but getting your alignment right (need caster to be around 3.0+) and a little bit of trimming should resolve any issues.

I appreciate hearing that- annnnd you taught me something I didnt know and that was I need an alignment after this! gah. BUT I guess I understand that.

I am committed to KO2's only because I have had really good luck with there in Maine environments. pavement, snow etc always been a solid tire for me even though they are pretty spendy. Im sure some of the other manufacturers are just as good or better ya know. I guess I just figured Id stick with whats worked for me kinda thing.

    Very much appreciate the input!

    That weight 51.3 lbs is for the 285 70 17 C load KO2
Says it’s diameter is 32.8 inches on BFs website.

Always like to help when possible... BTW... You really only need a new alignment after a lift or other suspension changes. That said, if you increase caster in your alignment settings it will provide more clearance from the cab mount for your wider and taller tires, which is the usual area that you will have rubbing. Good luck with your new tires once you pull the trigger.
