I spent the last four days with my kids touring Bavaria -

    Nurnburg:

Was taking a shot down the pathway - when an on-coming man looked directly at my camera. I kind of love this pic. 113A3228.jpg

    Ich liebe den Christkindlmarkt!

Good on you for taking the time to show your kids the world! It definitely made a difference in my life to see those things, and I hope it does in theirs too.

It always amazes me the ornate decoration on the old mayor's hall in Munich and the like. Their cafeteria in the courtyard is quite good! (but cash only as I found out the hard way)

Thank you! My daughter has lived here with me the past 4 years - of which my son stayed one year. He comes back on breaks from school - he lives with his mom in Michigan. I dont know the specific cafeteria - but I know to carry cash or ask first :D

Thank you! About 700 miles round trip - Kids loved it - I loved it. We'll do a couple more closer trips before New Year. :)

That’s fantastic! I have friends in Munich I visited last February. I really enjoyed that part of Germany.

Beautiful pics! Thanks for posting them.

I took a similar trip close to 30 years ago.

Though the marriage didn’t take, the memories of the trip remain a highlight .

One thing that sticks out was the McDonalds down the street from the Medieval Criminal Museum in Rothenburg. Such a clash of cultures and the implements of inflicting pain
were ‘creative’ to say the least!

it may help to know there are no McD's in old-town Rothenburg anymore. :D When I go, I stay in the walls/old town section. I love that city. Just love it. The day I take my last trip there will break my heart.
