I'm just saying what the box said lol. I'm sure it's not actually military grade, as anything rarely is as advertised. But they supposedly use some different components than they did on their other boards. I know their Sabertooth boards weren't having the capacitor issues some of their other boards were having at the time. :notsure:

All it means is it probably meets some sort of MIL SPEC. See it quite a bit in the firearms industry...omg its mil-spec or military grade! When reality is thats just a minimum specs determined by the military.

For the motherboard...probably just a certain grade of capcitors/pcb is used.

Like how Ford uses 6061 Aluminum, which is used in the military (as well as all other grades), or how Allison makes transmissions for just about everything including tanks the "military grade" claim simply means that they rated the board to either a certain dust tolerance, used a certain type of capacitor, or the PCB is slightly thicker to some degree that lines up with some military specification somewhere in the world. In other words it means nothing. Every decent mid to high tier board uses high end construction and components now. They have to with how heavy and power hungry modern components and cooling blocks are.

Never buy into a computer product that has the words "Gaming", "Military", or "Pro" on it because of the name. They are just words that marketing departments know will sell and legal departments know are ambiguous.

Yeah exactly. At the time, the Sabertooth boards ran better for OC than Maximus boards, which is why I got it. Never planned on riding through the desert while compiling a program lol.

I've learned in advertising, you can say whatever you want. Many times, the fines for lying are outweighed by the profits.

Yeah, after seeing two fail under 6 months and having yet to see a Fractal Desgins AIO fail... the choice for me is easy lol.

Noctua brown is disgusting. I was contemplating on getting noctua but settled on Corsair ML120s.

    It's iconic! :duh:

I don't mind paying a couple bucks extra for the chromax versions though.

If it wasn't for the glass panel on my case, I wouldn't really care either way though.

Haha I prefer the black ones. Good thing they released it in a normal typical color lol

What case ya got? I'm running a Corsair 275r and love the panel! Mine is acrylic though and I hate how it scratches so easily lol

Fractal Meshify C. Tinted glass panel. Case is nice for the lighting aesthetic.

Storage is my bottleneck for downloading stuff, time to get away from SATA HDD’s and USB HDD’s except for my photography stuff.
I also need to pull G: from the system and verify it will work without it and if so wipe G: to use as a scratch disk for Plex recordings.

My write speed tops out around 60Mbps on my HDD’s, my Ethernet (300 Mbps) download jumps from 15-20Mbps to 160+Mbps when downloading items (such as large steam games) and I assume it’s from reaching cache limit, a faster writing drive would help with that.

The photo is not really related except for showing drives, one (C:) is NVME and the rest are SATA or USB, with all but one being spinning drives.
I need to stop buying spinning drives even though they’re so cheap.
