    Here in PA rifle season ended last Saturday. Get an almost two week break and late archery and flintlock comes in on Dec 26th and runs till January 20th. Love flintlock season!!

    Lyman Great Plains Rifle. No sabots or conicals in this. 1:60 twist for patched round ball only. GunBroker has one for $660 BIN.
    80 grains of 2F behind a 177 grain roundball is bad medicine for whitetails.

    I leave one camera out. I checked it last weekend and again today. Still some nice bucks around. Nice to see what survived gun season.


    I shot my first deer in Wisconsin in 2006. All the deer I got before that were in the Michigan U.P
    I was really proud of this one. So was my dog, Star. She was 7 months old here. She chased this same buck 1 week earlier. I don't know what happened between her and the deer, but she never chased one again.
    Star was always a part of my deer hunting. She always knew when I got one. She would be with me when I'd cut one up, waiting patiently for piece of meat. We had to put her down this past summer. She's buried out back. Lots of deer walk by for her watch.

    I may have seen one like that here couple 3 seasons ago, went to a neighbors for thanksgiving, came out the last 30min of light. The guy pulls out 45/70 and doesnt shoot because its too far...when he had a 7mm:facepalm::goingcrazy: I was about to freak out cuz I didnt take my rifle @ my wifes request...She says "you dont take rifle to someones house for thanksgiving":frusty:....saw the buck walk off without a care in the world...his buddy was just as big but an 8pt...

    Part of what was on the pile right at sunset last night and the 100# doe that came out after. Ended up seeing ~14 in total. Button buck and a 4pt too. She had a gut on her and was missing like half her tail.
