I Have kids and hope I’m still having all sorts of fun late in life.

my grandfather was a very accomplished marathoner. Ran his last one at 76. Ran three miles on the day he died at 87. Oh and guess how he died? Fell 20’ out of the tree he was trimming. Lol.

that’s how I want to go out! Too many people spend their last times in pain and misery.

Sounds like a guy I wanna grow up to be!

I want to live a long happy life with my family. I’d give up just about anything and everything everything to grow old with my guy. And I’m sure when I have kids I’d give anything for them.

Fuck the trophies for shit. But thats me.
Get the passion and drive to dedicate your life to something else though.

Emailed HR today to follow up. No response. This companies communication so far has been poor. Luckily I’m not really going to be working for them and won’t have to deal with it.

I have never dealt with an HR department that wasn't shit. I've been through civilian, military, and government HRs and all of them suck ass.

    @HerT4R and @erok81

Got to use the watch on the indoor bike today. It was unable to detect a HR or speed so it just tracked my time. It didnt let me add the mileage like it does with TM runs which is disappointing but luckily I never bike. Today reminded me why. Stepped off the bike and I was barely able to walk. Meniscus was pissed. Worst sport ever. I’ll never do an Ironman lol

Also @HerT4R I watched an ultra documentary while I ran today. It dropped this fact which I love:
Each year nearly every woman finishes the Leadville 100.
Only about 50% of the men finish.

HR in its inception is supposed to be there for everyone, in reality it's usually there to cover the company's ass and the higher ups all stick up for each other. Dealt with it a few times in my career unfortunately.

Sorry about the watch not tracking your speed or HR on the bike. My watch requires a bicycle add on to monitor bike speed. Though it would monitor my heart rate with the HR chest strap, if I put it on.

As for the leadville 100, I learned about that when I read "Born to run" this year. It is a good book. Really makes you consider the limits you out on yourself and what you're really capable of. Actually that book is the reason the wife and I signed up for a half marathon in the first place. When we finished it together without walking it was a really really cool feeling. But yeah the section on the woman determined to crush at the leadville 100 was awesome, fucking motivating.

I have been using the small gym at my grandparent in laws to do body weight work and high rep low weight exercises trying not to lose my progress. I've also been doing hip and ankle mobility and glute activation exercises which have been harder than expected but I guess that's good. I added ability to do an unassisted handstand to my 2020 goal . So I've been working on a plan to try to help me achieve that. Let's see if I can stick to it.

I’m sure if I had a HR strap it would do better. I’m just not much of a HR zone trainer. At least not right now.

That book is on my to do list to read (my list is like 50 books deep). Everyone says its very good.

While men can be a hair faster than women at endurance events overall women physiologically and psychologically handle the events better. Women never get the credit their due.

Good luck with you hand stands! I need to make me some PVC power stands to practice mine with.

Holidays already getting to me. Out of the last 10 days I’ve only been able to stick to my macros twice and it’s only going to get worse this week but luckily I’m in a good place where it’s not throwing off my progress too much...although I do feel fat o_O

So here’s a post rare Sunday workout selfie. I was also peer pressured into donuts by @tacopaulo

Speaking of holidays... I'm getting sick of them lol

Had family Christmas last night, everybody there getting trashed and trying to give me drinks. I'm over here with a gallon water jug thinking to myself "damn I need to get to bed soon so I can wake up and train". Not to mention all the gyms closing for Christmas Eve, Day, and New Year's fuckin with my training schedule.

Weather has got me sick as well. Been hacking up shit and can't breathe at all. Still powered through a 3 hour session today though.

I'm still recovering from this dam shoulder, so it's been a forced 2wk deload/legs-only time. Very frustrating!

On the good side, I should be 100% once back from this trip just after NY so I'm happy about that.

24/7 gyms FTW. I’m glad the ones in town here never close.

not that I even train anymore. But, hypothetically.
