Only commenting because this is happening to my truck also. I have spent last two days off and on reading quite literally every single response OVTune has made for a chance to do some learning. Thankful for the little left and right arrows :)

Anyway my truck is completely stock so if it helps to know that this issue happens to non modified AT Tacoma’s. Personally not a huge deal for me since trying numerous wide open runs I’ve learned that it doesn’t happen if the pedal doesn’t touch floor board. Easy workaround by just stopping the throttle before it’s completely depressed.

One side note to add that may or may not be relevant info is that once or twice when pressing the pedal completely to the floor I heard a rev limit bounce roughly 3-4 times before it grabbed the next gear and took off again. Just figured I’d share the info I experienced in case it’s of any value for developer or others with similar issue.

The 3-4 shift it sometimes really weird as to how early it shifts as I’ve read others experienced this and OVTune said he was having a hard time with a fix. No worries but just wanted to also inform that it really only has happened at let’s say 35% throttle? Not sure if that’s an accurate guess but for better clarification the rpms were at around 3200 rpm before it hit 3rd then maybe 2 seconds later shifted to 4th and lost the mildly elevated speed gain and fell off to a slow increase in speed.

Overall though besides those two things it’s been quite flawless. Gonna keep driving for several tanks and possibly swap to the 87 base/performance and give that one a go for a while to see if I can feel any differences. Truck sure feels like a machine now. Acceleration under any load at any speed throws me back a bit in the seat. Nowhere near a racing machine but there’s zero doubt it’s very noticeable. My kids saying whoah the first time I done it with them in the truck followed by a bit of giggling means they noticed too!

even though we just downloaded the ov software last week, for some reason i was not on the 1.3.0 version. updated to that. took the 2.0 beta out, installed the 105.1. went to reset learning value, it said completed but, unsuccessful. reset AT value fine. idling now. going for a 100 mile round trip drive shortly, for dinner, and install of engine block heater. thank you, Blazinblue, appreciate you helping me out with all my novice questions. When you reset LV, do it with ignition on, engine not running, same as flashing.

It’s Sunday and pouring rain last two days so basically been mostly stuck inside the house so, as always been doing a ton of reading. Decided to start the long adventure of reading from the beginning of the thread and only (mostly) reading informative posts by OVTune. I honestly can’t help but grin a little. @MESO early on this thread looked like a kid in a candy store with a big gumball on a string just out of his reach. Some guy named dylon (apparently got banned somewhere along the way) was Dr Jekyll and mr Hyde at many various points. OVTune was extremely kind and patient and never got aggravated. I’m only on page 282 so got lots of catching up to do. 90% of the technical jargon and maps he shares I honestly don’t understand but still a lot of interesting reading.

I hope this doesn’t offend anyone trust me I don’t mean it as such. It’s quite impressive to even think of the amount of time dedicated to this for going on 3 years now. What’s even more impressive is early on and for many many months this guy was at it basically night and day 7+ days a week.

I’m still driving my 2.0 beta 91 performance tune to see how well it acts over numerous tanks.

Back to reading. Best of luck to the dylon guy. He sure seemed extraordinarily involved early on!

I just went from 1.05 performance + gear lock and flashed to 2.0 + erom+ 4.88 any reason I should’ve done av + lv resets? I just let it idle for like 5-10mins after flashing.

Only if there are any issues, otherwise it should be fine.

Weird. Had a line through his name like he was banned and when I clicked his profile said I don’t have access like it does with other banned folks.

This guy must be well known around here for some reason. Numerous posts responding about him. Anyway I am not particularly reading anyone’s posts from beginning to whatever page I’m on right now unless a specific conversation sparks and I like reading other users comments through the development. 2700+ pages gonna take a while even reading 95% only the developers comments :).

Still can’t help but laugh at MESO. I don’t know him at all and some of you seem to follow him quite regularly. But it’s actually funny because sooooo many times OVtune posts something he’s the next guy instantly responding right after. Especially in early 2018 if I remember correctly around the time 1.03 was released and when OVtune mentioned something about a turbo.

Anyway the more I read this thread the more interested I am in getting more out of my truck also! Gonna keep reading and then make replies with few questions here and there. OVtune mentioned a full exhaust at some point but I haven’t read far enough to see if that ever happened or not. He definitely said the stock exhaust is quite restrictive though and power gains can be obtained through that and tuning. Maybe one day....

Curious for the 19800 04b31 91 4.88 tune guys in here... especially ones that drive up mountain passes... first trip up to the mountains with this tune however I’ve been on it for 600+ miles. It completely skips 4th gear pulling up passes and hops into third, which it then realizes that it is red line and shifts to 4th. I tried multiple throttle scenarios and each time it skips 4th and jumps into third. Anyone else have this with the 4.88 tune? Or does anyone have older 04b31 4.88 tunes saved that I could try out?

I’ve reported this multiple times, it’s happened on all versions of 2.0. It sucks... I hope it’s fixed on final or I’m selling my truck

Glad I’m not the only one. I plan on trying a non 4.88 tune and seeing if it is an issue

Final just means it's not beta. Final 2.0 will have some issues. 2.01 will be better. Just be patient.
