@406cruiser How much time do we have to reach the pricing tiers?

The group buy is for the TOB kit which includes what you see on their website I put a link to on the first post. You will be able to optionally add a discounted clutch kit and the oil cap. If we get 20 people in on the group buy, everyone gets a free oil cap!

Just regular DOT 3 or 4 fluid. A few people in the past tried to put some sort of synthetic DOT5 fluid in the system and it destroyed the seals. The rubber seals in the bearing housing are custom made for Clutch Masters to specifically be in constant contact with brake fluid.

Sorry, thought I mentioned that! We're going to let the group buy run until the end of December, so we'll wrap things up on the 31st.

I would also like to point out that if you go this route, you will not need the accumulator delete kit, as this replaces the accumulator and clutch cylinder. Ask me how I know.

Usually during group buys, post #1 is updated with the usernames of members that are in... let's us all see how we're doing as far as discounts go. Not a requirement at all, just a suggestion. :hattip:

@406cruiser How soon can this kit ship out? I just picked up my X-Runner about a month ago, and my clutch disc exploded last night. I'm definitely going to get this, but I dont think I can wait another week and change for the group buy.

I would be in for an obnoxious yellow colored TRD cap, ideally, though I would be fine with a blue or black one if expediting is not an option. How many total are in the group buy right now?

Oh, and I think someone at CM needs to double check the oil cap listing. The JZ engines use the twist and lock sprung style oil cap, so unless I'm missing something, these would not fit IS, GS, SC, Supra, etc. They should however fit UZ V8s, Tundras, Land Cruisers, Sequoias, 4Runners, etc. And I believe the UR V8s as well, need to double check with what we have

Here's what I have so far on TW side:

My truck started just squeaking a few weeks ago and I finally had time to diagnose today......and I was able to find this thread after a few hours of research. Perfect timing. Put me down for 1 also.

also wondering on what date the GB sale/shipment might occur,

looking to change the clutch ASAP; worsening TOB squeal has me fearing it could fall apart at any minute

Mine has been squeaking for probably close to a year. I know there have been a few catastrophic failures but I haven't heard of it being a very common thing. Unless you have been putting it off for a significant amount of time or it is getting exceptionally worse you are probably ok for a bit.

The oil caps can be many different colors, but the lettering is only white as the letters are laser engraved and that's the color that the laser makes.

    Updated!

That's what I thought until I started looking into it and chatting with my local Toyota repair shop and my mind quickly changed on that. Have to remember that not everyone who owns these rigs is on the forums, but my local Toyota repair shop said they had seen enough failures that it is a genuine concern to have. So from that point on I was worried about my transmission failing in the middle of nowhere!

Clutch Masters does offer a kit for the R154, and although they do look very similar, I don't think it has been confirmed to fit yet. I know there were some others who were going to maybe just buy the R154 kit and try it but not sure they did or not

The kits are good and in stock. I think since we're already at the 15 person mark, I don't see why we won't be close to 20 by Monday, spread the word everyone! I can get the discount code from CM on Monday and everyone can start ordering. I know that they have about 35 or so of the kits in stock from what they told me last we chatted so they can ship out basically immediately. Here's what I think we can do. Since we already are at 15 people, I can get the code for the discounted hydro release bearing kits and those who want to get them ordered up immediately can place the order and get that coming. Once we hit 20 people I can get everyone else a code for the free oil cap. You'd just have to pay for shipping again if you placed the two different orders, but hey it's a free oil cap! For those that can wait, you can just place one order and use the two codes and only pay once for shipping and the order would ship with the bearing kit and the oil cap.

For the 2J oil cap, you're spot on. I mentioned that to CM and they said they would have the website developer update that asap!

Let me know what everyone thinks!
