I had to use a pick, endoscope and wire to fish it out. Mine fell back into that side view mirror pocket.

I’m looking to get an Ender 5. Anyone have experience with this printer that wants to give an opinion? I’m looking for a sub $300 printer just to put my pick in perspective.

I've got an Ender 3. For those new to the hobby, I'd recommend the 3 rather than the 5. The 3 has huge user base of experienced users, whereas the 5 is still pretty new. Also, the 3 should be cheaper, while just as reliable for the most part. I got my Ender 3 for $180 awhile back but you can find them for under $200 all the time. Whatever your choice, just know one important thing, 3D printing isn't just a button click and your have a perfect print...you will need to learn the hobby as you tweak your printer in tiny ways and print stuff for it. For that reason as well, I think the 3 is great as there are TON of printable mods for it. It's an awesome learning experience using the printer itself to print addons and mods for it then replace that part with the one you printed. It's super fun and addicting for sure.
I will admit, however, the E5 and CR-10 should have much larger beds I believe, so if you are concerned about that, you should research to confirm the difference in bed size to see if that is important to you or not. I think the E3 bed is only slightly smaller than the E5 but I could be wrong.
You'll want to do research to compare them to see which you should get, but I will guarantee you that the E3 is perfectly capable of probably everything you're looking to do. I have yet to be unable to print something I wanted to.
Here's some starting research for you: https://all3dp.com/2/creality-ender-5-vs-ender-3-3d-printer-shootout/

I am also looking into getting a printer for random parts and custom nerf guns for the "kids".. Anyone had experience with the Artillery Genius or the new prusa mini?

If you don't want to spend time tweaking, calibrating, and dialing in a printer you are going to have to spend some money. Don't get sucked into the sub $500 printers, or the kits if you are not prepared to put in quite a bit of effort.

I personally have a Folgertech FT5 and I like it for what it is, but I did quite a few upgrades and spent a lot of time getting it lined up and calibrated. I easily doubled the cost of that printer just making it work "OK".

Anybody sporting a delta style printer? I’ve been thinking about one lately.

Since I haven't printed any truck parts here is a little t rex printed that shows the quality of the surface. Very clean for all the geometry going on. This was printed in white then dyed green for the kicks of it.

I just ordered the artillery sidewinder X1 as my first intro to this 3D world. Pretty stoked to start learning.

We manufacture air ride suspensions and are primarily using it for r&d to learn more about additive design techniques. Turns out there is a lot more to it than most people think. Wanted something plug and play so we could focus on just the design side. Also do some fixtures and check gauges with it.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Its amazing what you people can do with these programs and printers. I don't even have a computer. Anyway thought I'd share the 3d kit I ordered. It's all the body pieces for an entire 3rd gen tacoma. Heavy printer lines to fill but it's getting there. Never done this before so it's all new to me. Also had custom racks made to match my truck.
