Try riding the Crest with @abacall. He got skillz yo. :D

I def know what you mean. Just when you feel like you got the hang of it, you watch someone just absolutely thrash your beliefs. Grand Junction Colorado seems to be where they keep all those people. I have seen more incredible bikesmanship there than just about anywhere else.

You prob got blazed by Nate Hills. He's one of the shuttle guides / youtube personalities and must ride lower porcupine twice a day for as well as he knows that trail and how to master it.

Anyone know if Oneup USA ever does sales on their racks? Need to get one. Don’t mind paying retail but a discount would be nice.

Got out for a long ride today. Put on cruise control and enjoyed the ride. 30A237F0-CAEB-4749-AEC2-F600014B0EF1.jpg 933AD8BA-8A24-4DFF-BD7C-B7903044EACB.jpg 5F458650-A964-41C0-B7F1-72773C360E64.jpg

Negative boss, retail it is. Unless you can luck out and find one second hand privately.
I can’t get enough of that bike. Everything about your build makes me smile. Seeing the terrain you get to pilot it on is certainly a bonus

thank you sir! funny how we want what we dont have. Im tired of desert riding. All rocks and very little flow. I love riding smooth forest trails where you can rip around corners! fortunately, i get out to those type of trails fairly often.

Rolling hills with deciduous hardwoods local to me. Could be worse. Steeper more technical trails are a half day away. Gotta schedule those trips in around fam/work.

New ride, old bike. Truck was the upgrade for this year - bike will be next.

So, my 1up rack arrived in time.

Adjusted my set-up, and hauled the bike down here on vaca with me.

    This thing is NICE.

However, I've noticed that the bike does seem to wiggle around a bit. Never once came loose or anything. However, when behind, of following a semi or box truck, it moves A LOT...

    1980 mile road test...

Now, as long as I can get some time to ride it while I am down here.. I will be very happy..

That location is just always going to catch all the rough air. It's catching the velocity of air coming off the windshield and roof of your truck as well as all the dirty air coming off the semis and large vehicles in front of you. I've always had the same experience when transporting my bikes on the top of my wife's car; haven't lost one yet but that doesn't make it any less worrisome. There is a wind cover for the fronts of bikes being carried on roof racks that might help. It also reduces the number of bugs plastered all over the bars and headtube...

Yeah, that was pretty much my thought.
I was wondering if one of those would help.

Got in @ 0300 local, grabbed a couple hours, shower, and food.

I'll go over the bike, make sure nothing loosened up, chewed the tires, etc.
If it's good, I will just stay out from behind big box trucks.

With the boost mount, it NEVER moved..

It's actually moving at the steer head. Bike just wiggles a bit.

    Thanks!

THANK YOU. I rode it and absolutely prefer dirt - really a shame to ruin natural resources

Referencing your pictured trail, Boneyard, did you ride it?

I have been slacking on posting any bike pics anytime recently. Bigfoot the bike did a 100 mile gravel / paved 2 day tour this summer. On a 5 inch tire, and an 85 degree weekend, the trip was....regrettable.

And yes there was spare / empty space in each of the bags, it carried a tent and full size sleeping pad too.

Now if I could sell my Surly Cross check, I am thinking my SC Chameleon would be even better if it was a carbon frame. So someone please by the Surly so I can get some carbon single speed action soon.

I’d love for Santa to bring me a carbon SS chameleon too. But I’d be tickled pink with an aluminum geared one as well...:boink:

Updated the REEB with some ENVE hoops and Vittoria rubber. Switching from my tried and true Schwalbe until XC season officially kicks off to see if these Vittoria are up to the task and have earned their reviews or I need to swap back. MEZCAL rear and BARZO front in their Graphene tread... if it can survive Kanza; it should be good for XC racing.
