Good automotive dealers deal with this stuff all the time and know what products to use on vehicle fabrics.

But regardless this seems like a warrantable defect and hassling Toyota would be the best outcome I believe. In my years of service I have seen Toyota head office right a a few wrongs.
Be nice about it, but make sure they know you won’t go quietly.

The ozoning process which a detail company doesn’t do actually will get into every nook and cranny in the truck, vents, ac ducts everywhere and won’t damage anything.

    Wow!
Let them fix the leak and make them replace the interior.
    That is unreal.

More and more I am getting disgusted with Toyota.
I love my 17 Tacoma but we are getting burned with my 14 Sienna.
While under warranty the front struts were seeping which they told me was normal. Warranty expires the seep becomes a leak and now they want to replace them on my dime.
Steering wheel clunk is normal under warranty but became a $700 repair after the warranty expired.
This website needs to organize and start a watch group. There is strength in numbers

I have never received any type of notices from Toyota regarding TSBs. I learned quite a bit from this forum.

I used to work at a Chevy dealer and a customer brought in a Cruze that had a water leak which turned Into mold. The tech replaced carpet, headliner, seats, everything. The smell was still there due to the fact that the water made its way into the body of the car. Dealer bought it back because they couldn’t get all the mold out.

I second your decision to turn it over to the dealer. It's not their fault it leaks but I think a letter from a "good" (whatever that means) attorney to Toyota Corporate with a copy (cc) sent to the nearest EPA office would generate some favorable movement in your direction. I personally would not want the vehicle no matter what was replaced inside. But my opinion and $1.00 will buy you a large coke at McDonald's.

Not sure how they did it. If it was only for 2016 and 17 owners or all 3rd gens.
