These make me seriously want to move to Australia. Its crazy that we cant have this in the US over some BS emissions import law. My state does not even do emissions test. I can drive around belching out black smoke all day here if I want to.

Had a Hilux Pass me last night on the interstate. Only one I’ve seen in the states other than the ones Overland Pros have.

I’m guessing the one I saw came up from Mexico, because their tag looks like yours. Our plates don’t have dashes between the numbers.

Just curious if Mexico sells only low sulfur diesel or if your Hilux must use DEF.

 

Mine doesn’t use DEF. not sure about low sulfur part to be honest

 

There has got to be a way to get one here and drive it legally. Some loophole or something. I mean we have private owned jets and even rocket ships here that go in orbit but cant drive a stock hilux..

 

Ok I just had an idea. Order one part by part. Sub in any compatible tacoma parts. Build and license as a kit car?

 

We had them in the '80s. They really didn't sell well.

 

80's were a lot different time. Back then there was alot more discrimination against "jap crap" with the construction and blue collar crowd. The type that the Aussy Helix is marketed for. Also I think these would even cut into the UTV market.
